About
The Golf Club at Middle Bay is located on Long Island's south shore overlooking the barrier islands of Jones Beach, Point Lookout, and Lido Beach. Nearly every hole looks out across water. Though the golf course is just an hour outside of New York City, you'll feel as though you've been whisked off to an out-of-town resort. The layout has a challenging design that will test your accuracy with tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers. Wind will also be a factor on this golf course. The Golf Club at Middle Bay is a tough but fair layout that players of all skill levels will enjoy. In addition to the golf course, there is also a driving range available.

Nice views off the water. Tough when the winds are blowing but great condition. Fun round especially for the price.

The Bay
Greens are TRUE glass carpets right now and they have the fairways mowed down so tight it’s like a true links on the front nine. Unbelievable early season shape. One of my favorite public layouts on Long Island for over 15 years. Course is only going to get tougher throughout the season. But if you like consistent true and fast greens, Middle bay will never disappoint.

Great Greens
The Grounds Crew do an amazing job. Approach shots need to be close or a 2 putt can easily turn into a 3 with quick greens. First few holes start off very open and forgiving .... if the wind is under 10mph. As the course goes on accurate tee shots helps avoid water hazards. Par 5s can be long due to the wind...but Birdies are available throughout the round....Back 9 starts with Scenic 220 par 3 then a short par 4 on the 10th ... the back 9 seems to have a few more tighter fairways then the front ... the course is fun and a good test for all golfers.... but play from the proper tees .... or you’ll pay for it, and so will other golfers on the course behind you. Don’t be that guy that can’t put aside their Pride. Overall this a great course.

While the conditions were nearly perfect for the round, the greens were extremely fast, almost too much so. My prior ideas about Middle Bay was that it used to be a country club so we went expecting a sit down meal to be available, and it was not. The course was well manicured and taken care of. The holes are very close to one another and it was crowded today. It seemed like there were a lot of near misses with the other golfers and ourselves.

Great place to play
Played on a Wednesday afternoon. Coarse is in very good shape. They maintain this Coarse very well. Great Staff. Always fun and challenging.

Great course; but bird issues
The grass is growing in on this excellent course- great layout and the greens were rolling perfectly. A lot of divots need healing but other than that fairways were wonderful. Only complaint was the 6000 geese enjoying the course as well... sometimes interfering with play. As it is a course on the water, it naturally welcomes water fowl, but this was excessive. Not a big huge deal, but it can get on the nerves a bit.

Immaculate greens
I’ve played here several times in the past and I’ve never seen the greens so immaculate. They rolled true and quick firm but accepting of high shots. The wind was howling today!!! Never experienced it, balls oscillating on the green and such. Very challenging. Oh and the seagulls on the second hole are bullies. One stole my ball and dropped it in the bay. Great course, great condition.

COURSE HAS CHARACTER, BOSSES DO NOT!
Nice course, we listened to instructions of starter on pace of play, which they say should be four hours. After playing nine holes in two hours a comment was made by the ranger that the groups behind us were complaining about the pace? He tells us he thought our pace was just fine, however his "bosses" were complaining and we need to pick up the pace. He also made a comment about our abilities to play the game and that must have had something to do with our questionable pace. Therefore the bosses can take their golf course and shove it!

I am sorry to hear that this issue, ruined what was an otherwise positive experience on our course. . We pride ourselves on our pace of play and instruct our rangers to monitor each group’s pace to ensure the course maintains a pace that is acceptable to our standards. I apologize, if you feel that any issue was addressed less than professionally and I will look into and handle it to avoid any such occurrences in the future.
