The Golf Club at Middle Bay

Windy as heck, if you see 20mph winds its like 40 on the course which makes it very difficult to play. Greens are aerated, course needs some TLC but if you catch this course on a day that its not windy...best course on the south shore for sure.

Like most other courses in the area, the grass is not quite growing yet, but once it does this place will be great. Greens were rolling very well. Place was busy.

I understand when a course has had too much rain but to make a course path only for 2 weeks in a row not worth it even for free

This is one of my favorite courses in Nassau County so I’ll preface my review with that. It was extremely frustrating booking the time on golf now with a quart included and then getting to the course and not realizing that it was cartpath only. That’s number one, number two not having a notification that the greens or era fied is also extremely frustrating, especially because nobody aerates this early in the year. I’ll definitely be back but just frustrating on those two accords

I have not played Middle Bay yet in 2021 as they increased the price by $10 per round; other courses I play kept the prices consistent with 2020. It is a nice course and layout with winds typically off the water, which can wreak havoc on your shot. When it rains, the course can get very soggy and a lot of holes are cart path only then. The carts have GPS, but it will stop the cart if you venture even close to where they do not want you driving.

I've played this course many times over the last few years. There is not much difficulty in terms of fairways and trouble spots like water if you hit reasonably straight. The difficulty here is in the short game. Chips have varied lies and depth. Greens are deceptive, and pin placements are very tough especially front nine. The views on 2, 3, 10, 11 are spectacular. Challenging but you don't feel beaten up.

Since I live nearby i find it very convenient location. The only problem i have with the operation is that you do not make allowances for seniors and handicap players. I am 83 years old and at most courses am able to get a handicap flag and reduce to amount of walking so that can still play. Yue do not have handicap flags. WHY?

The course is an oasis in a desert of golf courses. Well maintained greens and approaches. A fairly natural links and forest combination of courses. Excellent features in terms of the fairways and greens. Can sometimes get a bit backed up on the front 9 will open up on the back. Have played here many times always an enjoyable experience. Golf carts need a bit of attention as the electronics dont always work .

Fair and challenging course. Greens also in decent shape for this time of year and rolls fast! I think it is the 15th hole which has crazy amount of mini hills protecting the green, definitely a signature hole to remember. Quite a few dogleg hikes, which keeps things interesting. Overall fun course. Good walking course as well. Modern carts with GPS, but with Cart Path Only during this season, I would recommend walking if weather permits. Will definitely be back. Played 3 times this season here so far.

Played here for the first time. Layout was nice and conditions were very good considering it’s middle of December. Staff were very friendly as was the starter. We teed off 10 minutes earlier than our tee time and there was back up whatsoever. Finished in 4 hours walking on a Sunday afternoon with awesome weather.

I would like to play during the season.
