Great Value/Loads of fun
Love playing this course. Terrific condition for a heavily used public course. Great layout. Very well maintained greens.
I really enjoy all the county courses but Saxon is my favorite all-around experience.

Well maintained. Staff is friendly. Fun golf course. Not too difficult, but has plenty of interesting holes.

Slow Pace, useless ranger
I could not finish 18 holes within4hour20minutes
On a week day. Ranger did not help too much. I could not finish the 18 holes for my last 3 rounds at Saxon, either waiting for cart or allowing extra groups to cut in. Enough ...,

Had fun the course is challenging. The greens were in great shape for this time of year. I will differently be playing this course again!

Too Slow
Very poor management. It seems that every time I have had a tee time on a weekend, we never go off on time. There is simply no other reason for this, other than the fact they must slip extra groups out. And, then when you do go out, you're in for a 5 hour round! Rangers don't do a thing, they just drive around. A few weeks ago there was 3 open holes on the back, and we were forced to wait on every shot. We flagged the ranger and showed him what was going on and he just drove off in the other direction. We quit after 12, when we saw the ranger ignoring the slow group. Saxon Woods is by far the slowest course in Westchester County!

The course was good for the most part, 1 or 2 tee boxes were eh, but for the most part, good course for the price

Nice, but...
Course is nice and in good condition considering the play it receives. But, as other reviews confirm, slow play is the norm here. Especially on the weekends. Do not anticipate teeing off at your designated time if you have a tee time on a weekend. They undoubtedly slip extra groups in, which is the only explanation as to why they get backed up by 40 minutes on the 1st tee by 11am on a weekend day. Even former employees of the club admit that this is the case. This has gone on for years. Shame on the management of Saxon Woods, and even more to the Commisioner of Parks for Westchester.
