...... and it was returned. I checked the next day. The staff were very accommodating (starter on course drive around asking other groups) and cart garage was up to speed when I came in the next day.
Cool by me
First hole
I like everything of this hole, except for the first tee. I wont like to start a round with rescue or an iron. Its too short and dogleg right. Even if i hit a rescue or hybrid straight. It goes to the woods. The first tee affects you a lot on the feeling of the whole round.
Great public course you should try
Great course, good layout & you won't feel you are just playing 6100 yard at Back Tee. fast greens, bunker is sandy, need to be cautions that couple holes have blind spot, close to other fairway & need to across driving range.
It has Putting Green & Driving range with light weight plastic ball, only good for warm up.
Kids play
Group ahead of me had 5 teenage walkers who were just wasting time on the course throwing clubs around very immature to allow teenagers to play 5s on such a beautiful course the pace of play was slow because these kids were just swinging multiple balls at a time terrible time wouldn’t recommend this course to actual golfers
Saxon Woods: A Fine Public Course
The public courses in Westchester County are a great value for County residents, and centrally-located in White Plains, Saxon Woods is probably the most popular. At $26.00 for a Senior "walking" the course, the value is unbeatable. While not as finely manicured as a private country club course, Saxon Woods is very well-maintained. It has a pleasing variety of lay-outs and is challenging for both "duffers' and more experienced players.
Although it can get quite crowded on weekends, the pace of play is reasonable, particularly during the week (Monday-Friday). Since the Covid epidemic, water barrels/dispensers are no longer available (apparently for public health reasons. Although Covid is still an issue, the worst appears to be over, and I do wish the County would reassess this issue.
Keep coming back because it’s a comfortable course

It’s just hard enough to be challenging. Kept in good condition. Wish there was more sand in the bunkers,
But overall a nice course. I come up from Manhattan to play here a lot. Friendly place

Best Public Course in Westchester
From tee box to green, this is the best maintained course of the Westchester County run public courses. Length that stresses this senior golfer's score, I need to be on all aspects of my game to break 100 here. But i still enjoy playing here.
