Maple Moor Golf Course

My friend and I marveled at the quality of the fairways and greens on this busy golf course. We were stuck between two groups of 3 and the pace was painfully slow, but this did not spoil our day. This course is one of my top choices in Westchester.

When the course is in good shape and there’s not a lot of people out , it’s usually a good experience here as a quick round after work. I have had two of those before, but this time not so much. First of all we were a threesome, then they added a fourth which is fine, and somewhat expected on a Friday afternoon. But he had just started playing and was actually uncomfortable playing with someone at our level. There was space behind us on the tee sheet but the ranger was rude and not having any of it. Just a heads up for guys in the same situation. So on to the course, the layout is okay for this kind of municipal course, I got the tee times as hot deal for 36 bucks, but I would pick serveral other courses in the area at full price ! The fairways are not very good, actually pretty bad. Even for this time of year. The tee boxes are just as bad, with grass as long as the rough some places. The only thing that was above expectations were the greens, they were slow, but at least they were consistent and fairly well grown. But for a course like this, pace of play is key. And that was pretty terrible, and we didn’t see a ranger once to try to pick it up. We waited on every tee box and it took us 2 hours 35 minutes for 9 holes on a short and pretty open course ! Two of us walked off after 11 cause it was not worth the wait. Me personally would prefer Sprain lake and Saxon woods in this kinda course category.

Course poorly maintained. Greens like putting on thick carpet. No rangers to keep pace, backed up 4 groups on a par 3! Awful.

the greens were good but need to be cut and rolled which they never seem to do. the county needs to renovate the fairways like they did with another county course. its the course you play if you can't get out on mohansic or saxon.

Very nice challenging course. Condition modest. Only issue was rate of play. Slow slower slowest

Fairways are in great shape, course has a fantastic layout, but greens are confusing! The sprinklers make half the green soaked and half the green dry so long puts are inconsistent for speed!

Part of a foursome. Course played very nice. Water hazards made for some interesting second and third shots.

I used to love playing this course. It has a nice flow with some challenges that can be mastered over time. But I wish I read the reviews before I chose this course last Sunday. The rough is not supposed to be 5 inches thick right off the fairway. You have to be right on top of a ball to find it on many holes. I don't usually lose balls but I had to take lost ball penalties on holes where I had only hit it a few fee off the fairway. Not the way this course was maintained in the past.

Although it was raining, we had a very nice round! Nice elevated tees...lots of well maintained vegetation

The course is beautiful, wide and long. Great fairways, very deep rough...sometimes difficult to find the ball. Drainage can be a problem since we had a lot of rain very recently, but greens are in great shape. Personnel are very helpful and kind. Our foursome had a great day!
