The Wigwam Arizona
About The Wigwam Arizona
Located in the West Valley near Phoenix-Scottsdale is one of Arizona's most historic golf resorts, Wigwam. Set on 440 acres, this village-style resort features three 18-hole golf courses, including two designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., most notably the famous Gold Course. The resort features 331 casitas and suites with large private patios and several resort pools, including a new 25-foot water slide tower. The resort-style golf courses are more parkland in nature than surrounding desert courses and feature palm trees and water hazards sprinkled throughout. There are four dining concepts, led by the signature Litchfield's Restaurant serving local farm-to-table cuisine, while there is Red's Bar & Grill for casual fare and the Wigwam Bar, which is the social epicenter of the resort. Recreation outside of the 54 holes of golf is nine lighted tennis course and two regulation bocce-ball courts, sand volleyball, bike rentals and yard games.Facts

Great Course
The course was in fantastic shape and play moved along at a four hour pace. Would definitely go back!
18 is a train wreck
The cart girl was very nice and provided excellent service.
Drop off area was chaotic. Did not seem like they knew what was going on.
We were very pleased with the condition of the course! Greens: very consistent and in good shape
Traps: good sand but needed to be machine racked…very crispy
Fairways: excellent shape and well taken care of!
Rough: A little dry in some areas but all in all very good shape.
Fringe: maintained very well and consistent. Could putt through it.
It was a very nice day, too bad we ended with 18. Very difficult. It would be better to drive into #1 fairway and stay off 18. Too dangerous for the people on 1. 2 lakes, 1 creek, ton of trees and a long way make it an unfair hole for the average golfer. Cover but with this said, I will be back.
Sunday Afternoon
Course in good shape.
Other golfers seem to be playing in wrong fairways quite often, and golf balls all over the course just lying around.
Very weird as, we were hit into on several holes by other golfers.
Great Time!
Such a great course! But very challenging approach shots and short game. Amazing course conditions. And level tee boxes.
Great shape
Course is in great shape and pace of play was better than expected. I always plan for 4.5+ hours on the Gold course, but we got through it in 4. Greens rolled true and are fast. Good times.
Great place
The course is in excellent shape and the weather was perfect for golf. I enjoyed playing the Gold course very much and will definitely return to play again.
Red Course
Great course, friendly staff! Can’t wait to come back!
Blue
The sand was in the best condition I have ever played it. True championship condition. Greens were playing true and no bumps whatsoever. Overall experience was fantastic.
Nice shape
We enjoyed playing the Blue course.. its a bit shorter but can be challenging due to the bunkers. There were two dummies behind us that were non golfers and really had no business being out there... they couldn't hit the ball 10 feet but we were always watching because they were hitting from distances that could have hit us easily if they made contact... Still disappointed that the management allow groups of six and seven golfers. We like wigwam it was our favourite if we got a deal on golf now... The prices have gone nutty and we likely won't return to AZ.
Not impressed
Conditions were okay. I found many of the holes looked the same. After your drive, you are looking at an elevated green with a massive bunker each side and a small area in the middle. Every green was an upside down pie plate. Many huge bunkers all around the course. Lack of rakes as well.
Definitely no “signature hole”.
Not for me.
Hard course
Make sure your scoring clubs have those grooves clean. Like a pga course. Position is everything. Leave the driver. Position is everything.
