The Wigwam Arizona
About The Wigwam Arizona
Located in the West Valley near Phoenix-Scottsdale is one of Arizona's most historic golf resorts, Wigwam. Set on 440 acres, this village-style resort features three 18-hole golf courses, including two designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., most notably the famous Gold Course. The resort features 331 casitas and suites with large private patios and several resort pools, including a new 25-foot water slide tower. The resort-style golf courses are more parkland in nature than surrounding desert courses and feature palm trees and water hazards sprinkled throughout. There are four dining concepts, led by the signature Litchfield's Restaurant serving local farm-to-table cuisine, while there is Red's Bar & Grill for casual fare and the Wigwam Bar, which is the social epicenter of the resort. Recreation outside of the 54 holes of golf is nine lighted tennis course and two regulation bocce-ball courts, sand volleyball, bike rentals and yard games.Facts

Shorter and lots of fun
We really enjoyed the Blue course. It was shorter (Par 70) but in great shape considering the amount of play it seems to get. It is reminiscent of an older FL course - kind of tight, not too long and good greens. The staff was very friendly and we moved along well even with a full tee sheet.
Great Condition
Excellent condition for this time of year. Finished in 3 1/2 hours. Greens were tough but true. My only beef is with the limited food options at the turn. With two 18 holes cross crossing they could do well with a burger stand. Or at least prepared sandwiches.
Too many kids and no ranger
Course itself is in great shape. Greens, fairways and boxes. For whatever reason, on this Sunday there were a large number of kids (young teens) out on the course. We had a group of 8 of them behind us, shouting back and forth to each other as we tried to tee off/shoot. They eventually ended up in our fairway coming up from the other direction and showed no consideration for getting out of our way or moving quickly (walked slowly the entire length of our fairway as we waited to hit our second shots once they passed). On 11, we ran into a group of 3 small children (and their parents) who came from no where - hadn’t seen them all day. The kids were very good, but when you drop a group in the middle of play, it slows things down significantly. We sat on each hole 15-20 minutes waiting to tee off, before eventually giving up on the round after 14 holes, all in all which made for what have should have been a very beautiful day, very disappointing (and expensive - I had my dad and 11 year old along on my tab). A ranger could have helped move things along.
good practice facility
very average municipal course. very poor layout. Shooting Gallery on many holes. Fairways not lush, mostly tight lies
Must play course
I play the Wigwam courses every time I come to phoenix and I am alway impressed. From the pro shop staff, starter, beverage cart and the golf courses 5 Star
Enjoyable coarse. Pretty wide open and excellent for novice golfers.
GOOD
course was wet with puddles from last nights rain.
Draining was poor
Greens were very slow from rain
Wigwam Blue
Beautiful course, starter was a wonderful fellow. Loved the course.
C for crappy parking
Loved the course but parking across the street want cool. Bag drop off was tricky but you still had to park and walk a ways to clubhouse and carts.
Good course for the money in winter
This is a good course. Flew in to escape winter and didn’t want to break the bank on a round. Good facilities, friendly folks. A most enjoyable round.
