The Wigwam Arizona
About The Wigwam Arizona
Located in the West Valley near Phoenix-Scottsdale is one of Arizona's most historic golf resorts, Wigwam. Set on 440 acres, this village-style resort features three 18-hole golf courses, including two designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., most notably the famous Gold Course. The resort features 331 casitas and suites with large private patios and several resort pools, including a new 25-foot water slide tower. The resort-style golf courses are more parkland in nature than surrounding desert courses and feature palm trees and water hazards sprinkled throughout. There are four dining concepts, led by the signature Litchfield's Restaurant serving local farm-to-table cuisine, while there is Red's Bar & Grill for casual fare and the Wigwam Bar, which is the social epicenter of the resort. Recreation outside of the 54 holes of golf is nine lighted tennis course and two regulation bocce-ball courts, sand volleyball, bike rentals and yard games.Facts

Nice round except for the fivesome that collected at the 10th hole.
Good course conditions despite the rain from the prior two days. On 10th hole, we caught up with a group of 5 who appeared to be local members, which slowed up pace significantly. The group said fivesomes were allowed. Called pro shop and the ranger was dispatched and broke up the group. Pace of play resumed to a reasonable pace. Would have rated five stars except for the arrogance of the members. Will go back again.
First time on the Wigwam Gold Course
A decent value with the Golf Now Hot Deal. Not a $200 value. Greens were firm, leaving shallow, small indents which were difficult to repair due to extreme hard packed soil underneath. Bunkers were ok compared to 7 other area golf courses I’ve played this month. Fairways were patchy. Lots of water standing in any low area on the course; I guess water is not an issue here. Hoping that time will improve conditions. Playing the Gold Course again in Feb. BTW, I need to mention pace of play! On the back side we were able to see the group holding up play. WE WAITED ON EVERY SHOT - ALL DAY! The group 2 tee times in front of us was a par 5 and a par 4 behind!! Where was the course Marshall?! And they were all in golf carts! IMHO, “Grow the Game” should mean play with proper golf course etiquette, not “anything goes”! For instance, park golf cart in back of green (don’t casually amble back to cart which you’ve left parked in front of the green), don’t sit in cart waiting for your cart partner to hit and then drive 10-20 yards, slowly get out, take another 1-2 minutes to hit your shot (perhaps a wild miss sideways), slowly get in cart and drive another short distance and repeat the painfully slow preshot routine, putt out for a triple bogey or worse!, rake bunkers, repair even shallow ball marks (repair yours and another), keep up with the group in front of you, etc. Thanks for listening.
Fun day
Pace of play was awesome. Nice to hit off of grass
Great Course
Our foursome played the course in 3 hours without rushing because we play “ready” golf. First time for all of us on the Blue Course. Fairways and greens in excellent condition. Nice layout and pace of play was great. After playing the Blue Course we played the Wigwam signature Gold Course on the same day, also in 3 hours. The Gold Course is longer and more challenging than the Blue Course. It is a wonderful course to play. We’ll be back to play the Red Course next!
I am visiting the area as a guest from out of town. Since my arrival I've played wigwam gold twice and blue once. Christy in the pro shop was very welcoming each day and remembered me as a returning guest. Great service from all staff.
Thank 6ou
Great place to play
Excellent as always and never disappoints. Staff was the best and the greens were in excellent condition.
Fair to Average course and conditions. Delay in tee time by over an hour resulted in us barely finishing before dark, with no adjustment in green fees.
Too pricey for the condition
I like playing rhe Red course at the Wigwam. The greens were rolling nice. The fairways were a little shoddy and not what you would expect for the price they are charging right now. Golf prices in general have gotten way out of hand in the Valley.
Fairly Forgiving Course
Actually got teamed up with a couple guys I golfed with a couple years ago. Small world. The Red course is pretty wide open. Recovery shots are fairly easy. Lots of space between trees. Greens were very quick. Extremely windy the day I played. The last par 5 was a bit challenging. It was hard to figure out where to aim, even on the second shot.. I ended up with a dbl bogey. They could probably use something a little better than painted bricks for tee markers, that looked a little cheesy, but it's worth a play
Wigwam Golf Course Blue
Had a good time, greens in great shape. The round kept moving, had a 1 hour frost delay,
However after we teed off kept moving. 4 hour round with 4 some.
Thank You Wayne S
