The Resort at Pelican Hill
About The Resort at Pelican Hill
The Resort at Pelican Hill is one of SoCal's trendiest getaways, whether it's for golf or to unwind. The resort takes inspiration from the 16th century Italian architect Andrea Palladio. Each one-story bungalow guest room or suite features its own limestone fireplace, private terrace and marble bath. The 2- to 4-bedroom villas are secluded within their own gated community. Guests can lounge at the Coliseum pool and spa or shuttle to the Crystal Cove beach. Tom Fazio's North and South courses both kiss the Pacific Ocean with outstanding views throughout the round. Six restaurants will tempt your appetite.Facts

Fantastic course
Fantastic course!!. You don't have to waste your time in other golf course. This is your course. thank you !!
Amazing!
Amazing ocean view on the golf course and perfect green condition.
Perfect Day
Really enjoyed our round on the South Course on Sunday. Course is in good condition and we didn't have to wait on any of the holes. No one in front of us and no one in back of us.
Pro-tip - go and enjoy a beverage after you round at the Grill. We did and the "scenery" was on point.
One and Done
I had some high hopes for Pelican Hill. My wife and I had a 8:25 AM tee time, so we arrived an hour early to warm up. Low and behold, the range was closed until 09:00 AM. It would’ve been nice to have known that beforehand! There also weren’t any nearby putting greens to practice on. I asked one of the starters, who said the putting greens were near the first tee, which was about a two minute card ride away. Since we were there so early, we couldn’t head to the first tee until the starter gave us the cart key. We decided to walk around the complex a bit. It was nice, but nothing spectacular. The only place to eat was a little cafe, which had a very limited menu. It was also staffed by a lone employee, who was actually very nice. Once we got to play, the views were pretty amazing throughout the course, which was in pristine condition. The weather was starting to heat up in the afternoon, but there were no watering stations anywhere on the course. The beverage cart came by when we were on the front nine, but there was nothing to eat or drink on the back 9. For the amount of money I spent to play this course, I would have expected more amenities. Nothing special, just minimally a few water stations,
Outstanding condition given the drought
I was expecting to see at least some course damage due the ongoing drought. But every tee box , fairway, and green were in excellent condition. Pace of play was not horrible at about 4.5 hrs.
Spectacular
Worth every penny. An absolutely beautiful design on The Ocean South course. We happened to snag the earliest twilight rate that was available. From the moment we were received to our handshakes on the 18th, this was what golf enthusiasts live for. First time playing the course and certainly won't be the last when visiting this side of Southern California. The only complaint we had was that the group in front of us was a tad bit slow towards the final 4 holes - this appeared to be from poor golf etiquette - but the views and conditions made it easy to overlook this small complaint. Gorgeous views, variety in terrain, canyons, mountains, ocean views...what else could you ask for? Oh, a chip in par on the 18th to tie your mate 80 - 80!
Nice Course but Expected Bettee
We played this course on a Saturday. The layout and course amenities are excellent. However, the greens and bunkers were not perfect. The greens were full of divots and spike marks that made the greens roll untrue. Expected better from a course at the cost point. Bunkers do not look like they had been groomed that day. Also, the main putting greens was closed so no putting/pitching warm up. Pace of play was slow as we had to wait on the 8th tee box onward. They did not have a marshal keeping play moving. The views from the course was spectacular so it is worth a one time visit. But at the price to play did not correspond to the conditions of the course so I likely would not replay as I can play other courses in SoCal in better condition at a lower price.
