The Resort at Pelican Hill
About The Resort at Pelican Hill
The Resort at Pelican Hill is one of SoCal's trendiest getaways, whether it's for golf or to unwind. The resort takes inspiration from the 16th century Italian architect Andrea Palladio. Each one-story bungalow guest room or suite features its own limestone fireplace, private terrace and marble bath. The 2- to 4-bedroom villas are secluded within their own gated community. Guests can lounge at the Coliseum pool and spa or shuttle to the Crystal Cove beach. Tom Fazio's North and South courses both kiss the Pacific Ocean with outstanding views throughout the round. Six restaurants will tempt your appetite.Facts

Best course in the area!
Always want to play this course if the price is right. Except pace is a little slow due to the group in front of us, everything is perfect. Will come back.
One of the best Back 9’s but…
I love the Pelican Golf Club courses both north and south, I think the North is a bit more difficult than the south but the south has some beautiful holes overlooking the ocean on the back 9. Had a late tee time and finished 17 holes after starting at 3:50. Would have finished but hit a wall around hole 11 after not having to wait all day.
Of course you may be wondering as to why I only am giving the course 4 stars and that’s because of the golf operations staff. Some of them are top notch and professional as it gets and others seem to come off as very entitled due to the fact that they work at a high end club. They will talk down to you if you have questions or issues you might have. For instance this is a course that charges $340 for a round of golf to the public. If I wanted to book as a single or with 3 people they would make you share a cart with a random person that you get paired with. Ever since Covid this has been happening all too frequently. We are paying a premium to get premium amenities and I don’t understand (especially in the afternoon when there are plenty of carts available) why you either have to pay more for a solo cart or try to talk the starter into it. I love getting paired and meeting new people to play with, in fact it’s one of my favorite parts of golf overall but sometimes when you get paired with someone who is either far more talented or not as talented as you, things can become a little frustrating during the round. So Pelican, please let us use our own carts if we ask ahead of time. Thank you.
poor greens and slow play
Although great view holes the greens were really poor and so fast that v difficult to read or play.. staff and amenities were good bit for a golfer the game did not meet the price
A beauty by the beach
I don’t usually pay a few hundred bucks to play a round of golf but this is one where that splurge is justified. The course layout is scenic and challenging. I played the north course. Fairways , greens and boxes were in good shape. Bunkers can use more help but that’s on the players not raking after. Same goes for divots you can find on greens. Pace of play was ok. Given the price I understand most people want to play like they are on the tour. Really no big complaints. Just a beautiful course which I wish I could play more.
Pelican Hill: Almost Worth the Money
This is a great course with stunning ocean views on many holes. The course was in beautiful condition except for the bunkers which were like any typical resort course loaded with footprints because of lazy golfers who don't rake them. The greens were slick with putts close to the whole continuing to run out. I'll go back to play the South Course, but with so many golf courses to play, I don't think I'll pay $415 dollars to play it again.
Stunning views
Great course in great shape. The greens were challenging until you figure out the break. The views were stunning particularly the backside 11-14. The driving range is huge and there are a few putting greens. I would play here again.
Get Here!
Very well maintained course and a staff that goes above and beyond for a great experience! Great pace of play and a course that is every bit as challenging and fun as it is beautiful.
Magnificent
First off, if you can, book a stay to go along with the golf; from the second you turn onto the entrance road, you’ll understand. The North has a nice secluded feel, being tucked away pretty well from roads and houses. Favorite hole was the 18th. No complaints worth mentioning, however, if you’re searching for perfection, Journey at Pechanga comes closer, and if you like the option to walk, it’s Trump National in Palos Verdes.
WOW
Best day ever Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful
Has to be the Peeble Beach of SoCal
Pricey yes but worth every penny
A bucket list for sure
Play the south
The north is less enjoyable than the south and obviously impacted by watering restrictions
Pelican Hill
Pelican Hill has 2 beautiful Fazio courses. Played the North this time. Perfect condition.
