Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
About Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
Somewhat overshadowed by Sawgrass, this classic inn and resort predates it by several decades. Two charming golf courses have benefited from the design expertise of local resident and experienced architect Bobby Weed, and the new Lodge recently increased the resort's accommodations complement by several dozen rooms. Ponte Vedra Inn & Club should be near the top of the list for visitors seeking a sense of Old Florida.Facts

The Worst
This was undoubtly the worst course I have played in the state of Floirida. The greens where the absolute worst, the condition of the course was horrendous, I couldnt beleive that they actually have members who actually belong to this facility. I would never suggest anyone spend thoer money here, spend the extra money go to Waterlefe, River Club, Calusa, Azario....anywhere but here. I used thiis round as a practice round playing by myself I played 2 balls since I got stuck behind to members that were treating thier round as if they were play at Augusta and I still had to wait on them each hole. I cant beleive this place is stuill in business I now understand why I was able to get a tee time as easily as I did.
Great course
Course is well maintained. Fun to play. I sacrificed a ball to the creek due to alligators.
Average course but way overpriced now
In the past, you could play this course for 30 or $35. For an afternoon rate, what they're charging now is ridiculous for this course, which has a good layout but is challenging to maintain. Judge for yourself. But I can't understand why they're charging. So much now, when there are better ones, half the price
Greens need some watering
Course is being watered while being played. Greens are died up and weedy.
Fine
Very nice course. Best tee boxes I have ever seen.
Terrible
Don’t go new owners put the price up over $70 of course not worth it
$40 or less might be ok
Members have their own carts they don’t have to follow the rule
won’t be ready to play probably until next November 2026 save your money
Course not in very good shape every where
Terrible
Let me start off they have new owners they raised rate to $68 cartpath on eight holes the greens were terrible bare spots, grass growing in the middle of them, they were very bumpy. The edges of the greens were sandy very little grass around the greens that you could hit off. The Rouff were terrible in most places. Fairways were good grass was thin if it rains they will be terrible.
members with their own carts could drive anywhere they wanted to, we couldn’t cartpath only didn’t make sense.
Members have their own golf cart, no way to control them.
They had temporary tee boxes that were horrible, most of the sand traps were horrible.
There was five cars in the parking lot at 7am and there were 10 cars in the parking lot at 11. I guess the word has gotten out. They may be good in a couple years. They have a long ways to go put your money somewhere else.
They need to close down now and work on this course for a good year then come back next October. It might be good by then lol!!! a good $40 course not $68
They got me...
I should have read the reviews. Note to self for any future bookings. They aren't going to tell you in the notes that they are watering and reseeding everything.. tee boxes aren't avaliable so you get to tee off from dirt randomly where the forward tee would be so take off 100 plus yards every hole. Greens are dead and or trash..
I understand the need to maintain the course but at this point not letting it be known all the things going on seems like they are taking advantage. Nobody would play here knowing.. specially not for anything over 20 bucks. Worst experience I've had in a while golfing.
Overseeding and Shortened t-boxes
I come and play here whenever i'm in town. Today was not good as they overseeded the tee boxes and fairways. Every hole had srinklers on and soaking the ground. They moved every set of tee boxes forward so much that every hole had shortened distances of over 100+ yards. The worst part is that there was no mention of work being done to the course when booking. So my 45min drive and rate was demonized by no communication. Horrible experience today.
TEMP TEEBOXES AND OVERWATERING
Place would be awesome if they didn’t overwater EVERYTHING and advertised that they have temp tee boxes set up. We were teeing off not once, twice, but THREE times and got blasted by sprinklers. Save your money and call ahead to see what the tee box situation is before you go. Also $18 fkn dollars for 2 hot dogs is insane. Huge mark up on balls too.
Embarrassing
I reached out to the course 2 days ago hoping to hear some kind of regret or apology for what can only be called an embarrassing and miserable golf outing.
3 issues made for a horrific time golfing.
1, Temporary Tees
2. Sprinklers Running Continually
3. Cart Path Only.
When we got to the first tee the sprinklers were running and the temporary tees were flooded. I said I would go back at tell them and one of my partners said "They know" we would just have to work around them.
Added to this was the fact that the carts were cart path only so we pretty much walked 18, second 9 we did a scramble to try to make a miserable experience more enjoyable. Ende up taking 5 hours, not because we play slow but had to avoid water or wat for sprinklers to pass after most shots.. This was not a discounted rate it was just not caring about the customer in any way shape or form.
The temporary tees shortened the course by about a quarter have multiple par 3 less than 100 yds. I understand that happens when doing construction, but when those tee are nothing but mud and water, you should not be taking tee times if you are going to not provide a playable experience. I've played there before and i was quite nice but I would not send anyone there now.
Give it a miss this week
Played today and have always enjoyed playing here as the course is good and the staff are very friendly and efficient but, we arrived to find that the course had been over seeded and it was cart paths only and temporary tees on all holes, some of which you couldn't play off as they were drenched in water and muddy and slippery as well as making the course a lot shorter. The grass on the fairways was very long and we had to keep dodging the sprinklers so couldn't get to our ball at times. If we had been warned we would have taken a raincheck and booked in a couple of weeks when the course had recovered but as we had pre paid we would probably have lost our money. As previously mentioned it's a nice course to play and I would recommend you give it a go but not for a couple of weeks until it recovers from the overseeing.
Unplayable
I have played this course before and enjoyed it very much. Right now it is UNPLAYABLE.
Temporary Tee Boxes, many muddy and no grass. Fairways reseeded and nice, but they are watering so they are marshes, and the greens have no grass...mostly sand and weeds. the rough and grass around the greens is mostly dead grass and crabgrass. perhaps the worst shape of any course I have seen in years. very disappointing.
Cart path only due to reseeding, was not aware of this. Horrible make shift tee boxes, sprinklers running, greens hard as a glass. This used to be a nice course, sure has gone downhill.
Good value
Free range balls, fun layout. Hole 10 has maintenance, is temporary a par 3. Other than that it was a lot of fun. Some greens have bad spots, but not too bad.
Stay Away
It is an absolute shame what a massacre the new owners have done to this course. Once one of the best courses in the area, now worse than the municipal. Range is a dirt pile, greens are compacted sand & fairways are pure weeds.
