Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
About Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
Somewhat overshadowed by Sawgrass, this classic inn and resort predates it by several decades. Two charming golf courses have benefited from the design expertise of local resident and experienced architect Bobby Weed, and the new Lodge recently increased the resort's accommodations complement by several dozen rooms. Ponte Vedra Inn & Club should be near the top of the list for visitors seeking a sense of Old Florida.Facts

Dry greens
Narrow fairways and small, sandy, dry hard greens with large sand traps around them.
Fast pace of play because hardly anybody there.
Nice layout.
Poor conditions
Greens hard as concrete, not being watered.
Fairways were mostly hard pan with almost no grass. Weeds were more prevalent than grass.
Many beginner golfers on course, leading to very slow pace of play.
Missed Opportunities
The course layout is amazingly solid. But the upkeep is awful. The tee boxes and fairways are “ok” but the greens are just not taken care of properly. There’s crabgrass, sand, bumps and obvious old holes all over the place. And it seemed to our group that the grounds crew takes “new” earth from the outline of all the greens to use as hole filler???? There are literal old holes filled with regular sand outlining pretty much every green. And most of the ground around the greens is just sand and dirt. Ugh. Not for $70.
Very sad condition
Played with 2 friends. Even using a golf now hot deal and a 30% off promo the price to play this course was not a good deal, overpriced for the condition of the course. The putting green was in horrible condition and the greens on the course were no better. Find a better place to play and spend your money.
Overall the course is good
The greens are below par
Great course
Love.playing this course and a great price on top, for a drought going on it's in great shape and the greens are in good shape and very fast.
Friendly course, disappointing greens
Enjoyed the overall layout of the course, and the staff was friendly and welcoming throughout the day. Unfortunately, the greens were in very poor condition during my visit, which made the round far less enjoyable than it could have been. With the greens in their current shape, it’s hard to justify the value of the booking. I hope they’re able to get the putting surfaces back in good condition, because the course has a lot of potential.
Great track.
Really liked the layout. Course conditions are understandable given the recent owner change. Can't wait to play next year after greens get a little tlc.
Tired course.
Played this course 20 years ago and really enjoyed it I was shocked at the course condition when I returned. Such a shame because it’s a great layout. Everything was tired, the facility, the course, even the staff. Greens were in horrendous condition. Hope they can raise some money and bring it back.
Like playing on a construction site
Greens are absolutely horrific, played a 7:40 tee time an had sprinklers going off in the middle of the fairways after our tee shots. A sprinkler ended up turning on as we were shooting our approach shots. Greens have holes, weeds, sand, and rocks all over them, impossible to truly putt there. Overpriced for the condition, the only thing good about this place was the fairways.
Greenskeeper Needed
Absolutely the worst greens I’ve seen in Manatee County. Tee boxes and fairways we’re good. The layout is great. Really no excuse for the lack of maintenance. The lakes are full, so there’s plenty of water to make the course beautiful.
Course
Bad course overall for the money. Greens are horrendous. New owner has raised price for a crappy course. Now also charging for range balls. It used to be priced low because of condition of course. Much better courses in the area for this price. Monday they didn't even have a snack bar open for water or anything.
There’s a reason they’re called “Greens”
Only thing good about this place is the range, the staff and the fairways. There is absolutely no grass around the greens so don’t even worry about trying to chip. The greens are completely dried out with sand and weeds growing all over them. Can’t believe they’re charging $75 to play here. Makes zero sense. I came here 6 months ago and the conditions were the exact same but decided to try it out again for a friends birthday. Place is on the ban list until further notice.
Valentines day
We have played here several times due to the layout and nice fairways. The greens need a little help but we always love the open layout ( except #2). The fairways are in great shape and it’s always nice to see the ospreys, gators and other critters on the course.
Great staff very helpful and great attitudes and course is kept
In good shape
