About Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort

The Florida Panhandle is known for its world-class beaches, and since 1973, Sandestin has offered a Gulfside retreat and an increasing menu of golf options. Situated on 2,400 acres, the resort boasts more than 1,000 total rooms, suites and villas for couples, families and buddy groups. Its four golf courses include The Links, Baytowne, The Raven and Burnt Pine Golf Club. Burnt Pine is an otherwise private club that makes tee times available to resort guests. Sandestin's sheer size means that practically any beach resort amenity is available, including the large Baytowne Marina.

I enjoyed the round first time playing! Quite challenging lots of water! Slow greens but we had snow 5 days earlier so still wet in spots! Only complaint the tee boxes were pretty beat up and uneven!

I would play again

Course is looking a bit run down, that being said it is off season but some of the bridges and things look like they could use a little TLC. Range was very busy and most of the balls were covered in dirt and not cleaned.Paired with two great guys and had a lovely day. We did see the cart lady many times during the round so that was great.

Good shape for this time of year.

Just a few days ago there was 6” of snow on the course. The crew had it in great shape; only drawback was the 90* rule. But better than “cart path only”. Always get paired up with great people. Best golf course hot dogs around!

Nice place, not enough parking

I was suppose to play on the 26th at 2:20. I arrived about 1:00, dropped my bag off, then circled the parking lot looking for a spot. After 30 minutes I gave up and picked my bag and went home….. figured If there was no where to park the course we be packed and play would be slow.

Improvements

Really need to utilize the great location of the pro shop and minimal snack bar to expand the halfway house to contain indoor seating and open the pro shop up for a more spacious and useful area. Might even pay for itself

Fun round

Two of us played and the Links was pretty busy as we finally got a break in the weather. The course was in pretty decent shape for January. We played as a foursome and got around in 4 hours and 10 minutes which is terrible. Had a good time. Golf Now is definitely the way to go as most of the courses in Destin have gotten pretty pricey.
