The property was founded in 1952 and today features 36 holes of golf and many more natural and outdoor activities on the grounds to explore. The resort is home to the Lake View and Mountain View 18-hole golf courses, both wind and tumble through the rugged and forested terrain. The Callaway Resort & Gardens is set on Robin Lake, which has a beach area, while there is a robust events calendar bringing arts and entertainment to the property. In addition to golf, there are three pools onsite, workshops, hiking, tennis and a spa. The Treetop Adventure is a series of ziplines and bridges in the trees, and there is also a large butterfly center and birds of prey exhibit. For restaurants, there is a multitude of dining areas ranging from fine to casual, beach and poolside fare. Accommodations range from rooms and suites in The Lodge and Spa; more relaxed cottages with full kitchens and fireplaces; large and upscale villas; and the more affordable Mountain Creek Inn.Facts

Good layout
It's a nice course. Green is in progress to recover. Fairway is good. Good value for hot deal price.
Great layout and amenities
I really enjoy playing at Callaway when I can redeem hot deals through GolfNow. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the pro shop has many options of food/merchandise. Course upkeep can sometimes leave some to be desired, with bunkers sometimes having the lining exposed and greens sometimes having noticeable imperfections and bumps. With that being said, the chance to play this course at around $30-35 still makes it great value for the price. Will be playing here again.
This course was great for the family.
We had a group of 4 plus 1 junior. The staff was accommodating with our tee time as one player was running a little late. We played Lakeview, and it was challenging to find hole one. They said to follow the blue arrows, but we found ourselves searching for them. It took us a while to get started because of this.
Callaway is always our favorite
The course was undergoing aeration, naturally the greens and fairways were punched. We had to play the back 9 twice.
The staff was always courteous and nice. Despite all the inconvenience and heat, we enjoyed a leisurely and relaxing round.
Great Golf
You'll find a very friendly staff to assist you with your clubs and in the clubhouse.
The course is in great condition for good scoring opportunities
Don't miss your chance to go low at the Gardens
LAKEVIEW @ CALLAWAY GARDENS
The course was in pretty good shape. I got through 10 holes before the storm hit. I was an individual playing and had two groups of 4 ahead of me that would not let me play through. The would finish up and wait for the other group to finish before tee in off on the next hole. I gave play this course numerous times good course to play
Could be better
I Remember playing the Callaway courses in the early 2000's and thought it couldn't get any better. Well dont show up thinking they're in the same shape because theyre not. For whatever reason......probably money.
The Lakeview course is fun, fairlly easy and is in decent shape. On the positive side the fairways and rough were in pretty decent shape. There are some weed issues though. On the negative side the greens are decent/fair at best. They were mowed but there is a poana/weed problem on a majority of them. For whatever reason the tee boxes weren't mowed. This led to high grass so your teed up ball barely hovers above the grass line. Some of the bunkers need more sand and for someone to get in them and kill the numerous weeds that are sprouting up in them.
I really enjoyed my round and i will be back.....just know that it could be better.
Has potential but needs a LOT of work
For the money this course was just not cutting it. Grass on the tee boxes was super long, the difference between fairway and rough was minimal, and the greens were in bad shape. There are some cool holes and scenery on the lakeside is nice but in order for this course to get better they will need to seriously invest in course management. Do not see myself playing here again until changes are made.
mountain view
mountain view course was played because the lakeview course had a small tournament.
tees were ok
fairways and rough were perfect.
most greens had some bad spots so we had to move the putt to a better location on the green.
most greens were in execellent shape when moved.
Resort layout, rough greens
The greens need some work, but playable. it does appear that they may be improving. Other than that, the course layout is beautiful. I’d play it again for a hot-deal price. I think you’d be satisfied, unless you’re a touring professional.
Not as advertised!
Unfortunately, I booked the hot deals prior to reading reviews and regretted my decision! As others indicated, the course is in rough shape and over priced, even at the discounted rate via hot deals. Tee box wasn’t kept and grass as high as the rough. Bunkers were filled with weeds with compact ‘sand.’ Small greens with dirt patches everywhere! Save your money and go elsewhere. $80 regular weekend green fees is highway robbery. I will not return!
Mountain View getting better
Fairways were excellent. Layout was excellent
Green were better than last time we played it. POA gone but some bare spot were still there . Green rolled better but still very slow. Pace of play was great. 3 1/2. Hours! Whispering pig BQ was great!!
