The property was founded in 1952 and today features 36 holes of golf and many more natural and outdoor activities on the grounds to explore. The resort is home to the Lake View and Mountain View 18-hole golf courses, both wind and tumble through the rugged and forested terrain. The Callaway Resort & Gardens is set on Robin Lake, which has a beach area, while there is a robust events calendar bringing arts and entertainment to the property. In addition to golf, there are three pools onsite, workshops, hiking, tennis and a spa. The Treetop Adventure is a series of ziplines and bridges in the trees, and there is also a large butterfly center and birds of prey exhibit. For restaurants, there is a multitude of dining areas ranging from fine to casual, beach and poolside fare. Accommodations range from rooms and suites in The Lodge and Spa; more relaxed cottages with full kitchens and fireplaces; large and upscale villas; and the more affordable Mountain Creek Inn.Facts

Not again
Course was in bad shape...I have never seen this course this bad in years...Greens was just awful
Very nice and worth the money if you can get a discounted round.
If you can get a business discount or one through the golf now app the course is worth the 40$ to play. One of the nicest around the area
Poor conditions
These two courses have gone way down since the last time I have played them...Thieir signature course the Mountain view their greens were awful...Use to be a PGA tour stop...Not now.....You could not putt on them. The Lake View course was similiar. The fairways were excellent.....But, I would not go back again after my experience.
Save your money
The greens were horrible. The Fairways were maintained decently. They should close one course and really put an effort into the other.
Not what it used to be
The staff is great and the design is great but the lack of upkeep and condition of the course was HORRIBLE! Fairways haven't been cut in days. Tee boxes are rough, but worst of all the greens! Some have serious lack of grass and all have weeds...actual weeds sticking up 3/8 of an inch! One green completely covered in goose crap. Definitely not worth the price. I can't speak for the condition of Mountain view course (it was where most of the golfers were) but Lakeview isn't worth the cabbage.
The course was in pretty good shape.Staff were very friendly, working onn repairing all the green., the lake course was great
Greens are gone
They have allowed the death of all the greens.
Nothing but sand and dirt with a few patches of grass.
The fairways were nice - but the bunkers were not well maintained.
Not worth more than $30 at most for cart and 18.
You will not be pleased - unless you never play, and don’t know what a golf course should look like.
What happened?
The greens are in a state of emergency right now. Idk what the plan management has for the course, but I hope they turn it around since they are charging 2-3x more for a regular tee time than anyone else in the area.
Greens?
A good green for scoring is basically nonexistent. Literal sand bunkers, holes, craters, mazes etc on majority of the greens on this course. The course itself it’s awesome. Such a great layout that provides a challenge. But can we do some maintenance or dare I say it? even replacing some?
Greens need work
The fairways and tee boxes were in great condition. Some drainage issues on some of the fairways, but overall in good condition, even with all the rain we have had lately. The greens were horrible. There were bare spots and some bare spots they tried to fill with sand. I don’t know how you are supposed to putt across that. I played with my sons, so we would lift and place so we could have a clear putt at the hole.
Poor Greens
Course has bad drainage and the Greens were awful. Staff was kind and Champions Restaurant was good.
Nice Layout
Course was in OK shape, but the greens need some TLC. This course is not what it once was and it could be so much better with a little more attention to the greens and traps.
ok course
tees were ok
fairways were ok
greens were horrible
pace was great -under 4 hours
staff was very friendly
I would expect better by Callaway Gardens
Hubby and I played the Mountain View course. It was a challenging course for us, but compounded by bad green conditions. The bunkers, though plentiful, were not well maintained. I would probably play the course again, but only after verifying greens conditions. (And making sure it’s not cart path only- as we experienced.)
