About Ka'anapali Golf Resorts (Maui)
Ka'anapali is a resort development in the west Maui town of Lahaina. It is home to two golf courses, Royal Ka'anapali and Ka'anapali Kai, as well as a number of beachfront hotel and condominium properties that offer stay-and-play golf packages. Ka'anapali is a three-mile stretch of beach with 13 places to stay and 45 restaurants. Hotel brands include the Westin Nanea Ocean Villas, Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas, Aston Maui Ka'anapali Villas, Royal Lahaina Resort, Maui Eldorado Ka'anapali by Outrigger, Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, Ka'anapali Beach Hotel, Aston at The Whaler on Ka'anapali Beach, Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Marriott's Maui Ocean Club, Hyatt Regency Maui Resort, Spa & Residence Club and Ka'napali Royal. The beaches are famous for stand-up paddleboarding, snorkeling, sailing, parasailing, sunset dinners and whale watching. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the famous Royal Ka'anapali Golf Club in 1962 and the shorter Ka'anapali Kai course was added later.Facts

Maui golf
Course in great condition greens a little slow had a lot of subtle breaks, as with most courses in Maui totally over priced but all in all a joy to play on vacation.
Very nice course
Since Kapalua had just areated their greens and the Royal course at Kaanapali was in the middle of being aerated we played here. The course was in very good condition, the greens were good, and the views were fantastic. The staff was very very nice and overall we had a great day!!!
Kaanapali Kai
Course was in great shape. Lucky it wasn’t busy despite Royal being closed for aeration.

Great spot for west Maui golf.
The Kaanapali courses are consistently well maintained and offer great ocean views. I play here for at least one of my rounds every time I visit the island.

Beautiful Course
For the Kai course, there’s some amazing views once you cross over the road. Bad part is, once you cross that road you’re on your own with anything other than water. They forgot to inform us the beer cart person went home sick. Ensure with the starter, or at check in, that the beer cart is actually operating. We hadn’t seen anyone on the first nine and you WONT cross over to the clubhouse until 16, unlike any course I’ve played.
Good pace, no adult beverages
The Royal was not crowded on this day so pace of play was great, wind was down also.
Kaanapali course does not have a liquor license so the on course beverage cart does not have any beer for sale. They have you purchase it at a restaurant next door before teeing off. I have never heard of this especially from a high tier resort course

I got a ttime thru golf now at reduced price, starter got me on early which was nice, course was in excellent shape, this was my first time playing in Hawaii!

Kai course
If you can catch a deal it’s a fun course. Just cross
your fingers that some vacationers didn’t have anything to do so they decided to to try that golf sport thingy for the afternoon, from the tips

Saved a significant amount of money by using the app and truly enjoyed my first time playing! Paired up with another App user of similar playing capabilities and enjoyed the social interaction and golfing experience! Signed up to play the alternate 18 tomorrow

Beautiful
Very friendly staff. Visited with Larry who has been there since 1980! Course conditions really good, fantastic views of ocean and surroundings. Greens have some grain which affects putts, adding to the challenge and fun. Can't wait to return to Maui and play again.

Kaanapoli golf disappoints
The course offered 50% off a replay round. I called and confirmed that I could use that deal 8/9/24. I arrived and was told that it would not be honored. That’s terrible. I will not be supportive of this course to anyone I speak with in the future. I will be actively letting people know that they should avoid this course. That is not an honorable way to run the course. Be better!
