About Ka'anapali Golf Resorts (Maui)

Ka'anapali is a resort development in the west Maui town of Lahaina. It is home to two golf courses, Royal Ka'anapali and Ka'anapali Kai, as well as a number of beachfront hotel and condominium properties that offer stay-and-play golf packages. Ka'anapali is a three-mile stretch of beach with 13 places to stay and 45 restaurants. Hotel brands include the Westin Nanea Ocean Villas, Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas, Aston Maui Ka'anapali Villas, Royal Lahaina Resort, Maui Eldorado Ka'anapali by Outrigger, Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, Ka'anapali Beach Hotel, Aston at The Whaler on Ka'anapali Beach, Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Marriott's Maui Ocean Club, Hyatt Regency Maui Resort, Spa & Residence Club and Ka'napali Royal. The beaches are famous for stand-up paddleboarding, snorkeling, sailing, parasailing, sunset dinners and whale watching. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the famous Royal Ka'anapali Golf Club in 1962 and the shorter Ka'anapali Kai course was added later.

For the price from where we live it is overpriced. The course was good but it would have been nice to see the cart person sooner. The pace of play was okay till the threesome in front of us joined the threesome in front of them, then it was really slow.

A little over rated

For the cost of green fees the course did not give me a big “WOW”.

It was in good condition and straight forward but I have played other courses that were better for less.

I would have a difficult time justifying paying the price again.

I suppose reputation has a lot to do with it

It was okay. Not worth the value.

I know a lot of Hawaiian courses cater to tourists, but for the price of the course, it definitely wasn't worth it.

The staff was great, but the course conditions weren't the best. Some parts were still soggy and wet, couldn't get traction in the cart, almost getting stuck.

The pace of play slowed down a lot, with a 2 some in front of us having both beginner players. There was no marshall to be found. A typical 4 hour round turned into a 5.5 hour round. Unacceptable.

Aloha and Mahalo for giving us your feedback. The great thing about the pandemic is that many new players have been introduced to golf. However, some haven't spent much time on the range. We try to be patient since we were all at that level at some point in our own golfing careers. We hope at least you enjoyed the great views and great weather and we hope to see you out here again!

Over rated

The greens were punched 2 weeks before we played with NO notification, additionally they some sort of disease growing in them that made it impossible to putt. Of course no price reduction Their restaurant was closed unless you had reservations. Good chance we won’t play there again.
