Beautiful Course!
Great layout on a beautiful piece of land. The course was in good shape and the greens were very nice.
New ownership/some new staff
Received rain check; heavy thunderstorm at tee time! Have played many times previously, always a good experience. Course is under new ownership, staff appears to be prepared to put forth the effort it takes to keep players coming back!
Course is usually plush green even in the dead heat of summer.
Some long par 4's and # 12 the par 3 is not even reachable against the wind with a driver. Plays much longer on a windy day and always seems to be windy. They should move the tee box up. I've always found the greens to be in great shape when other courses are burning up in the summer. . * Take a minute to enjoy the view from the # 11 tee box and check out the beaver in the Pro shop.
This course is blending into a nice place.
I enjoyed the day on the golf course and will go back and play again.
A lot of improvements and renovations going on
This course was starting to turn into a goat ranch and getting run down but now there's new owners and management. Course is already looking much better and they renovated the pro shop, they're building a bar, have some new carts, and really making some quick strides on improvements. They said there's a beer cart girl out there sometimes now too. Course is hilly, it would be a tough walk. Stay left on most holes, especially on 13 I think it is. You'll know it when you see it. We had fun, I'll be going back
Decent course, but needs improvement
Pace of play was exceptional. The course has a nice layout, but there was a lot of crab grass and weeds in the fairway. The bunkers were not really bunkers. They had weed patches growing in them and the sand looked horrible. The greens were in great shape. The ball was rolling very well. Overall, the course is not bad for the money, but they could use a driving range. I'm not a fan of courses without driving ranges.
Not in good shape
New management has big task in front of them. Course not in good shape at all.
New Management in 2014 - many improvements in course and facilities
Numerous facility, onsite Condos, and course renovations occurring this year.
the course has lots of slopes , stay left
the course can be tough at place. its in good to fair shape i would play it again it makes you play better at other courses. great to get you game in shape.
Crab Grass Central
The greens were very nice. Fairways were another issue. I have never seen so much crabgrass on a golf course. Horrible!!
Fairways need alot of attention.
I had played this course last year and found the greens to have vastly improved. I can not explain why the fairways were full of crab grass and rye. If a green can be manicured to the proper extent, why not place weed control in an area, the fairways, that require much less attention.
bring your game!! this course is no joke # 14 & 15 was hard. people there were very nice too.
You will get your exercise. The back nine on 14 & 15 harder than I played so far this year. You want a challenge and a beautiful scenery
The greens were in great shape
The course plays more difficult than it should due to patchy and uneven growth in the fairways. Otherwise, very challenging your first time on the course.
great people
Love the challenge of this course, you must stay left. Keeps your game true
Better Options out there....no lie!
The course needs some real work and the pro stashed my paper change in his tip jar without even asking
On behalf of myself, and everyone at Tanglewood, I would like to apologize for the unsatisfactory experience you had at our course. Also, I would like to advise you that we are under new management, along with a new head professional, greens superintendent, and business development/marketing manager.
There will be changes coming to Tanglewood with this new mangement, and we hope that despite a negative experience previously, you will still be open to coming out to play again.
Thank you,

HORRIBLE
Conditions at Tanglewood are just appalling, worse than any that I can ever recall playing. Virtually no grass at all, nothing but weeds. Tee boxes and bunkers are a disaster. What little money they apparently have to maintain the course appears to be going into the greens, they were at least below average. I wouldn't play here again for free. Also, no drinking water on course on a warm & humid day, one guy "working" in the clubhouse sitting there doing nothing. No paper towels in mens or womens restroom.
I would like to apologize for your previous experience at our course. We are however under new management, as well as a new head professional, greens superintendent, and business development/marketing manager. I would encourage you to come and visit us again, as Tanglewood Golf Course makes improvements and brings quality customer service.
Thank you,

Never a flat lie
Course in reasonable condition for this time of year. Always friendly staff. Course is built on hilly terrain so flat lies are rare.
Tanglewood
Generally the course was in less than good condition. But, it is very early in the year. It will get better. The greens were very good for this time of year.
Lots of blind shots on this course.
Course Rating Buttons default to to a preordained position: 1-3-5. I played the course and I'll judge.
A pretty course set in the hills of Kentucky. My first time on the course challenged me with some blind shots and tilting fairways that would suggest those with a slice stay left or better yet, correct the swing flaws. Greens putted true but showed some stress from the hot 2012 summer. Fairways are a bit rough on some holes and driver target areas are not well defined... no rough because everything has been mowed to the same level and fairways are a mix of whatever took root.
Services are consistent with the price but I didn't go there expecting a bag boy at the entrance.
I would encourage more people to play this course, accept it for what it is, and drive more revenue into the course. Someone had a vision for 'what could be' when the course was developed and it retains the possibilities. Here's is my pitch shot. Go play this course because it.is affordable and enjoyable. Accept the conditions, golf your ball, and mark your card ! You might find a shot in your bag that is waiting for less than perfect conditions.
This course needs maintenance.
It's good for the price, you really have to play the hills off the tee box. The course needs a lot of fairway maintenance unless you like to play off of crabgrass.
I apologize for your experience with us. I would like to inform you however that we are now under new management. With this, we have a new head professional, greens superintendent, and business development/marketing manager. We would love for you to come back out and join us. The course will be going through changes in a positive direction.
Once again, I apologize for past managements upkeep of the golf course.
Thank you,
