About Shanty Creek
The 5,000 acres of Shanty Creek Resorts are spread among three villages - Cedar River, Schuss and Summit, each with at least one golf course, restaurant and accommodations galore. The Summit is arguably home base with the Lakeview Lodge housing the Lakeview Restaurant, the spa and the Legend and Summit golf courses. The resort added the Hawk's Eye course and accommodations across the street in 2021.Facts

Snails Pace
The Pace of Place was so slow, third time we
Played this course in the last two weeks and today was lawful! We only played 12 holes and quit. What a bummer.
Schuss Myn
Love this course. Very good value. Pace of play was not good. Waited on every shot. Wish people would play quicker around the greens.
The Legend was a great experience
Booked the course to play for our vacation, the staff was very impressive and friendly, course conditions were great. Fairways, greens and tee boxes were in great shape. Only complaint would be that a few of the bunkers were a little wet and played more like clay than sand. Other than that no complaints at all. We had a great time, on a truly beautiful course.
Excellent day with my sons
Course was in good shape and a beautiful round. Greens were a little slower than anticipated but rolled true. Tees were flat for the most part and staff was excellent
Schuss Mountain GC
Course in excellent condition. A tad slow in the beginning, but after a couple groups left after 9 holes we breezed through.
Cedar River
Excellent facilities and staff. Course was immaculately manicured. Fairways were wide enough for the casual golfer but afforded advantages for a well placed shot. Greens were fast but also held long irons. I would recommend this course to all levels. A top ten public course in the state of Michigan.
Awesome Course
Even though the weather was terrible, the day was great because the course was in great shape and the layout is challenging and fun! We will be back.
Nice Little Course
We had a great round at The Summit. It's not as picturesque as Cedar River, Hawks Eye, or The Chief, but it's a nice little course for the money. Staff is super friendly and helpful too.
Hot and Fast
With the hot dry weather Cedar River was playing firm and fast. In great shape as well. One of my favorite courses in the whole wide world I never get tired of playing Cedar River.....it's spectacularly designed and just plain fun to play. Especially knowing just how to route your ball for maximum rollout. This is a Weiskopf gem that's not to be missed if you are in the area. A must play each and every time I venture to Northern Michigan. 4.5 stars. Highly Recommended.
Too backed up!
At least a ten to fifteen minute wait on every hole. Nine holes took over three hours.
