Shanty Creek

Very very nice. Picturesque and challenging. A must play.

From tee box, to fairways, to greens, this course is one of the poorest courses I have ever played. The fairways are mostly dead. The tee boxes have been dead for years and taken over by weeds. The greens have severe areas of snow mold kill off.

Great fairways and greens. Some rough and some hardpan off the fairways. Good value with twilight rate after 1 PM.

Cedar River is a fine golf course. I love the short par 4 on the back. We had a great time and were able to play in 4 hours. Overall a very nice experience.

We found the course to be very well maintained; we enjoyed our experience and played in just under 4 hours. We were paired with two other golfnow players - overall a pleasant round.

Nice maintained course, staff were friendly, no problems with reservation and started on time, playable for the novice golfer as well as experienced golfer, Had difficulty finding the course as GPS sent me to the main lodge instead of to the course. Only problem was no cart lady on course and temp was in the 90's the day we golfed, water on the course helped. Able to call in order at the turn but was backed up due to large group in front of us. Overall nice experience would recommend to a friend.

We enjoyed playing! The course was in tlp-top shape. Every hole offered another challenge. Lots of elevation changes throughout the course.
We wll be playing again in the future.

Really enjoyed playing this course. Challenging, yet not too difficult. The course layout was very scenic in a wooded area with just enough bunkers and water to make you place your shots. I look forward to playing this course again.

I was impressed with the course and decided to play it in my quest to golf all 50 of the Michigan Digest Top 50 public courses in the state. It falls at #16 and seems about right given where others I've played are ranked. It feels like an up north course as it's mostly treelined, but plays slightly more forgiving than most up north courses. There are a couple holes with a river running through them (hence the name) and the sound alone from the tiny rapids makes the course memorable. Overall I give it an A-

Excellent course. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all in great condition. Service was very friendly.

Hawk's Eye GC is in great condition from tee boxes, to fairways, to greens. Only complaint would be that some holes need to provide first time golfers with info about blind shots or where they can drive through the fairway. Another issue is needing an additional club or two when going uphill. But various holes offer challenge and interesting layouts.

If you can get a discounted rate this course is very worth it. The greens were immaculate, very true. Very playable course and fair if you don't hit a perfect shot.

The staff was very friendly though I didn't see the beverage cart girl the entire back nine. Part of that may be due to pace of play being very quick.

Legacy is an extremely challenging course that requires a tee shot in the fairways or prepare yourself for lost balls. The course was in excellent shape with very difficult greens. I think I will return when my game improves. Lost a few balls!

Very difficult layout with many trees and twisting greens!
