Beautiful Hill Course
We played the Hill course. The staff was helpful and friendly at check in. There is a long way between the clubhouse and hole number one. They had a beverage chart on the course, stocked with whatever you might want. The course was very well maintained. The cart paths were excellent. The only downside: we got back in about 7 p.m. and the clubhouse was locked up. Even if we had wanted to go in to buy a shirt or whatever, no one was around. Other than that, we really enjoyed the course and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun day of golf.
the lakes
Played the lakes for the first time this year on 7/8/16 on a beautiful day. The greens were in awsome shape and rather quick which I like. I only found 2 bunkers out of over 100, and the sand was the best I have seen it, so getting out of the sand was fun. The fairways are very wide here so one is almost always hitting their second shout from the fairway, nice. Really enjoyed playing by my self in less that 3 1/2 hrs. Really looking forward to playing here again soon.
good times.
awesome experience. course was in great shape. greens were rolling well. cups were slightly crowned at the hole for some reason though. pace of play was good as we teed off at 155 on a tuesday afternoon. Temps were around 101 degrees so bring an umbrella for the sun if it gets to you.. great ammenities at the club. good restaurant/bar. order the bbq chicken sandwich.
Resort course
Greens a little slow, otherwise great conditions.
Fun course
Had a great day on the course a little tough but a good time
Great day of golf
Got paired up with an old timer. Great company. The cart girl was awesome. Brought me a sandwich I was to lazy to get at the bar. View is great. Much better than the lakes course.
Fun to play
Played on a beautiful, breezy spring day. The greens still had some aerification signs but we're still okay to putt. Tees and fairways in excellent condition. Our 3 players played different tees but the challenge was fair for lower and higher handicappers. The landing areas are very generous for a course with the slope rating it has but plenty of bunkering makes you think your way around. The staff was very personable and helpful too. I will definitely go back my next visit to the Reno-sparks area.
Hills but not mountains
Great course. Need to allow several minutes to reach the tee box from the pro shop and extra time to find your way. Hill course was very green and not rocky like most mountain courses. Fairways were sometimes narrow but very good overall.
renoruona
I recently played this course with my parents visiting reno from the san jose area..I live in reno nevada..Love the courses here..The hills course much more difficult for lies and putting the lakes tough and fair water and placement key..chris ruona reno nevada
Carts kept dying
Two carts died on the back nine. Took forever to get a new one.
Great condition, both fairways and greens
Wind from 25 to 40 miles per hour, I hit 120 yard club over green at 175 yards, and normal Driver was 70 yards short into the wind. However; no one else on the course enabled me to play 18 holes in 2 hours.
Reno golf
I would think that this one of the better courses here in Reno. We visited from San Diego and looking for a nice course on Golf Now ( for a good rate), found this course in good conditions and challenging enough with the tough pin placement on the greens.
Sunday at the Lakes course.
Started on time. Course in great condition compared w last years when economy down. Good pace of play 4h 20 min. Greens tough but reasonably true even though punched and sanded 1 week before. I would play again if they kept the price reasonable. (or a discount for walkers)
Golf now for Herv.
Excellent course to play at and GolfNow makes it affordable for someone like me to enjoy. Thanks for the opportunity!
Very nice course
Saved about $15 by booking through Golfnow.com. Played with some local guys that knew the courses well. There are two courses and I played the Lakes. I was told this one was a little harder than the Hills.course. Great day of golfing with some very friendly locals. I would recommend this course if your playing in the Reno/Sparks area. I did purchase a bucket of balls and when I got to the range it was closed so double check with them to verify the range being open.
Called Hill course for a reason
The golf course goes up and down over several hundred feet on some holes. The course was in great shape and the greens rolled really well fantastic putting surfaces so it stayed online. Would NOT walk this course its extremely hilly. Easier than the the lakes course. Staff was really nice and pointed us to the first tee and cleaned my clubs after the round which was a nice touch. In my opinion both Red Hawk courses are in the top 3 or 4 in Reno/Sparks would play both courses again. There is water on the course but it was hot and I am glad we brought extra water with us.
Great views of sparks on this course.
Such nice relaxing views and environment will playing on this course.
Switched Courses
I played the first 5 holes of the Lakes course without encountering any other golfers. On the 6th hole there was a foursome on the green and the beverage cart was coming my way so I asked the gal if there was another group on 7. She said it was really backed up, and a high school girls tournament was getting ready for a shotgun start. I thought I was going to have a miserably long round. She then said the Hills course was virtually deserted, so I drove over there and started on the 6th tee, and breezed my way through a less than 3 hour round! Why didn't the golf shop guy tell me about how crowded the Lakes course was, and suggest I play the Hills course? Poor customer service.
Course needs some signage and customer service
This course has GPS controlled carts, this is fine if the staff would have explained the workings ofthe cart. By not having control of the cart it can put you in a bad position and leaves you trying to back out of a bad sidehill with no power. The course was beautiful and the level of difficulty was just enough to make it a good challenge. Pace of play was horrible as we ran into the typical 4 old ladies hitting the ball 30 yards at a time. But seeing a herd of Elk on the course made up for it. I would play this course again if I am back in the area.
Hills Course Red Hawk
The course, the facilities and pace of play were excellent. Enjoyed the course layout and scenery including the wildlife very much.
