It's worth the play!
The course, the Lakes, has wide open fairways, the fastest greens I've played in a while, lots of water features and overall a great experience.
If your looking for a plush course to play this is it!
This is one of the best courses I have played, carts are awesome and equipped with a flat screen gps system, the staff was awesome, the course is plush plush plush, the tee boxes are better than most of the fairways where I'm from and the greens are just awesome. Had an awesome day here and will definitely be back soon! Came to reno just to play here and it was worth every penny, awesome conditions awesome day cannot say enough about this place the whole property from golf shop to restraint was incredible love the layout and the scenery is beautiful!
Lakes Course
Played the Lakes Course for the 1st and absolutely love it. Front 9 is flat and open, while the back 9 will challenge you with elevation changes. Can't wait to play it again.
Hills Course-a must play course in Reno, NV
Had played in Red Hawk Lakes course few times years ago. They now open the Hills course to the public, and this is my first time played. It is so great and nice than what I am expect. It's much enjoyment than Lakes. This is the best golf course in Reno area!
Haven't had the best of luck here
We have played here twice and had issues both times. The first time they failed to tell us that a tournament was scheduled for that day and that we would be playing behind it. We got in 15 holes before it was too dark to play. No credit, no refund. It was just our loss.
The second time they didn't see fit to warn us that the course had been punched and sanded. With our early morning tee time with the heavy dew on the course the ball resembled a dirt clod and was all but impossible to hit solidly. Again our loss.
Have talked to friends that love the place, but I can't recommend it. If you are going to play there make sure that you nail them down on the situation and the course conditions.
Course in great shape
Always enjoy playing Redhawk, The Lakes Course. Haven't played it in a few years and wonder why. I always loved the course and was not disappointed. Course was in great shape and had a great day with little wind.
Great place
This is a great place to play no matter your experience level. Great condition and great views
Red hawk - lake course
This course was a complete surprise. It took us over 30 minutes from the Peppermill Casino in Reno but it was well worth the drive. This course is beautifully set in among some gorgeous homes. There are a lot of sand traps however the distance is moderate and easier to play than at first glance. The greens were very challenging but in terrific shape. We would love to play this course again!
Great condition
Overall a fine course! Will be back. Needs a beverage cart
The course was in excellent condition
Excellent round of golf for the price. At $59 it is a great value.
Up and down with Hale!
I enjoyed the Lakes so much went back to play the Hills. Once again was paired with a local member by the very nice starter, Terry. The first two holes are deceiving - relatively flat. Saw a young coyote on #2. Then the up and down begins. Accuracy is key as the ball will roll and roll - sometimes not where you want it to. The sand traps are a bit diabolical - lots of grass on the front edges. Beautiful views of the Spanish Springs valley. Ronnie Gribble, the greens super, has a wonderful crew keeping the course in great shape. Another delightful lunch at David's Grill.
First Time on Tjhe Hills
We have played The Lakes course here a dozen or so times but never managed to get on the Hills.
Fairly challenging with some of the slopes.
No food access as there is no clubhouse turn on this course. Beverage cart girl very nice and offered to bring us out thier sandwiches but we really wanted a wrap from David's.
We opted to head back to the clubhouse after #8 and resumed our round after lunch.
Overall a great day.
Nice Course
Course in good condition. Some very long Par 4s from blue tees. Fairways are generous with a few dry spots. Actually good for a desert course. Rough played a bit long. Greens were spotty but rolled fine; medium speed. Course did not play overly challenging. Overall, a nice course and I would like to play again
Wetlands in the desert.
Who knew how many natural wetland features there are in Spanish Springs, just outside Sparks.
Took longer to get to the course than I thought so didn't get to warm up. Of course by the time we finished it was almost 100 degrees. The starter paired me with a very friendly member, Mike, who guided me around the course and regaled me with tales of great golf around the world. Jack, a southern gentleman, working to maintain the pristine conditions , also made me feel at home. Accuracy is key here as water comes in play on several holes.
I'll be back.
Lunch at David's Grill was delightful.
We'll be back!
Looking forward to playing it again. Friendly and helpful staff. Smooth operating cart with great GPS that was invaluable. Course is scenic and was in good condition. The narrow rolling fairways with many bunkers, the small guarded greens which were consistent in firmness and roll, and the blind shots made for a challenging but fun round of golf. We were not aware of this so be prepared, you play all 18 holes before ending up back at the club house. That is, no call ahead food service.
P.S. Saw close up, about 50 feet, a large buck antelope with trophy horns that was not the least bit concerned with human presence. .
nice layout
Good course for the money. Not too challenging but there were a few holes the made you stop abd think. As a first time visitor registration o the course the on cart GPS helped guide me around.
great greens
First off the greens are in great condition and are of high design quality there was no green that was not fun to be on. As with many American courses there is a pace of play problem in short people take to long to get to their ball prior to their shot and thus play WAY too slow!!! There was no marshall in sight nor did the drink cart catch up with me(but I did move around, once the place slowed to a snails pace) I made it out onto the hills course by accident a fair test of skill given the wind loved it>
Scenic Well Conditioned Course
Generous fairways with small green presenting
decent challenges. Staff amiable and overall experience was great. Playing mid afternoon provided great value!
Great features
Had a fun time playing this corse. Gets pretty windy in the afternoon. The sand traps weren't raked.
Our favorite course
It was 69 degrees and the wind was blowing hard so that made it cold. The price at the coarse was the same as it was on Golf Now so we were disappointed that we had to pay over 7 dollars fee to Golf Now.
