Rock Barn Jackson Course
Great condition, great experience for this time of year!
Well worth it
First course I played in North Carolina. I must say it was beautiful the staff was wonderful and it was a great time. I did get a hot deal which made it even better. Them having a range included with your green fee all set up and ready to go was amazing. Definitely a challenge and some blind shots but beautiful. Only complaint I would have is many houses. I'm weird though I don't like seeing houses on a beautiful course it just takes something away.
Christmas Eve Golf
Always a great time when I get the opportunity to play this course. The staff is always welcoming and the pro even allowed us to fill an earlier tee time which made it to where we finished before sundown. Looking forward to playing again all. Great Christmas Eve round.
Puzzled
I really like this course the staff are really nice and welcoming. The practice areas are top notch, the carts are great except for the GPS system doesn’t always give you the correct information. The past three times I’ve played Rock Barn the desk personal has asked to see my confirmation email. They wanted to know how much I paid for my round. I’ve never had to this before and it makes me feel like I cheated them out of something. I have always followed the rules when I use Golf Now to book my golf rounds. I’m not sure if this is legal or not.
Enjoyed the course
I love playing Rock Barn. This round was fun as I was 5 over after 9 holes and excited for a nice score.
Unfortunately, the pace of play starting around hole 5 really cut into my rhythm. I arrived at hole 5 to see 3 carts waiting to tee off and a back up that was at least 15 mins before I could tee off. Suffice to say, that was how the rest of the round went.
I'll be back to play again but sure hope whomever was holding everyone up would get a visit from a ranger to move along.
Otherwise, fun round although well over 5 hours to complete. Course was in good to great condition considering time of year.
Rock Barn was great
First time playing here, really nice Public course. The staff, carts (with GPS and hole location per hole), and food all top notch!
Challenging and gorgeous layout.
Highly recommend

Greens were in great condition and course was terrific.

Course was in great shape and greens had ben plugged several weeks ago so were very good condition.
Worth the drive from Charlotte
Very well kept greens. There was hardly anyone on the course when we played on a Sunday afternoon, which was shocking. It was hilly, but also pretty open on a lot of holes. Also, a lot of beautiful houses to admire along the way.
Will be bringing friends back with us ASAP.
Always fun to play and good condition
Absolutely the only improvement to the golf experience at this course would be for the Bermuda rough to be mowed a little lower so balls don't sink completely below the top of the grass.
Great course
It’s challenging but in great shape. Greens fast and fairways were great.
There's a reason it's usually ranked towards the top!
Best public course I've played in NC. Staff was super welcoming and friendly, course was in immaculate shape, facilities were beautifully kept. Had a great round. If I have to critique, it would be that there aren't many ball washes nor any water to drink out on the course. When it's pushing 100 with 80+% humidity, you really need to provide cold water. (Maybe there was free water from the refreshment cart?)
Tough course
Played this for the first time this week. It’s a tough course. Greens are firm and fast. Knowledge of the course layout would have saved me at least 5 shots over the round. Lots of sand and water. Very hilly. Staff was friendly but fairly complacent. From the back tees they have five of the hardest par 3’s I’ve played. Glad we went but probably won’t go back soon.
Awesome Golf Course and Staff
The Jackson course at Rock Barn has a great layout with a few challenging holes, but overall, a very playable, fun course to play. It was in great shape. The entire staff, regardless of their role, is very friendly and helpful. I travel 35 minutes to play this course at least 2 times per month. You definitely should check it out.
