Great Course
This course is very approachable. Greens are fairly small, but always in great condition. The elevations and bunkering on the course create very nice aesthetics throughout. The layout has a plenty of variation and is a joy to play.
Great condition and good, fun layout
Fair test. Played tips and although shorter than most, still challenging, fair test. par 71 explains some of the shortage in length w/ 3 par 3s on front 9. Love the free range balls and water/ice dispenser for all to use.
Enjoyment
Great shape, well maintained. Friendly staff. I'll be back.
First time playing Rock Barn but not the last. Very enjoyable course to play. The staff are very friendly, even though I used Golf Now. The entrance to the club house is a little confusing no signage on where to go for Jackson course or Reese Jones course. The practice area is very nice. The course is hilly, reminds me of The Treetops in Gaylord, MI. The fairways are wide enough for any miss hits you might have. Not too many bunkers to deal with. The greens were slower than I expected, the layout is great no two holes the same. I definitely will be back as it’s only a 40 minute drive from Davidson.
Slow players
Slow pair in front of me. They were in their own little world and no one existed.
Best deal in the greater Charlotte area
Greens are still coming back from aeration, but otherwise the course is in great shape. Love the layout. Usually complete the round in less than 4 hours. And your $65 greens fee includes cart AND range balls. A great deal.
Lack of effort!
Greens had been arrested which we knew in advance. At $65 dollars to ride 18, didn't expect plugs to be piled beside green or on course bathrooms to all be out of order. There weren't even any ball washers on course. Expect a little more effort at up scale course.
