Great Course
Very hilly, be prepared to adjust yardages to compensate for elevation changes. Well conditioned, greens rolled true and fast. We played 36 holes and I never had to roll my ball in the fairway to get out of a bad spot.
Greens not good
Fairways real good. Greens spotty and not a lot of grass putts would bounce. Layout very nice.
Great Shape
Greens were rolling true No crabgrass around greens, fairways in great shape.
Good round. Good course.
Santee National remains one of the most affordable and we'll maintained courses around.. there are new golf carts. All the fairways were nice and green. The greens were in good shape
The restrooms were clean. The bridge on hole 10 needs to be replaced. Otherwise it was a good golf outting.
One of the best in the south
Have played here numerous times. Always a treat. Greens were faster than normal which made for some challenging putting. Course conditions were A+++++.
Greens were not in good shape
we played all week in the Santee area. Have played this course many times, always in mid-late April. The greens are always iffy. The greens at the other area courses were in much better shape. Lots of poa annua coming in especially on a few of the greens. #9 seemed to be the worst. Probably the best fairways we played and the practice area and other amenities are the best in the area.
Also, there were two pins that were cut in terrible locations. #'s 7 and 15 you could not keep a putt on the green if it did not hit the hole.
Decent place to play
Average playing conditions, greens where little rough and was told because of early frost.
Nice fairways, otherwise meh.
Pro: nice fairways, that’s about it.
Con: pace of play (2-3 groups on each par 3), greens were fast and true, but looked dead. Traps were water filled holes (no recent rain). Snack shop lady was the rudest golf staff I have ever encountered!
Overall, poor value for even $ 45.
Great Value
Had Santee National on the agenda again for our annual golf trip and loved the value. Course was in pretty solid shape with a lot of it still coming out of dormancy. Fairways were top notch. Greens were extremely quick and some unfortunate pin positions made a few holes a bit comical.
Santee National is always a great 1st day course as part of a package deal and we'll likely be coming back again next year.
Santee National
Course was in very mice shape. For this time of year. I like the layout of this course, challenging, but fair. I recommend this course.
Good layout.
We enjoyed this course very much. The greens and fairways were in good condition. It was probably the 3rd best course of the ones we played in the area.Would play again for sure.
Positive surprise
Course was in great condition. Bettler then many of the places we played on HHI for much higher greenfee. If I am back in the region will definitly play again. Tourist from Germany.
Fun Track in BFE
If you are headed thru or live in the area this is a great track with great value for the $$
Very pretty course
Beautiful course and in good shape when we played. Very quick greens. Many dog legs. Spring rhodendrons blooming in house gardens along some holes caused us to think longingly of upcoming Masters Tournament.
Pro shop gent was friendly and welcoming. The only blight on the day was the lady in the snack bar. It was evident she was not in a pleasant frame of mind. Otherwise, it was an absolutely lovely golfing experience.
Definitely a replay
Course was in excellent shape pro staff were very friendly and helpful. The only negative was bar server was a bit snarly and in a hurry to close up.
Great value
Very few of the public courses within an hour drive of my home in Summerville, SC take the time and effort to overseed the fairways for winter play. It's really nice to play a course throughout the winter that has lush green fairways. And the greens are always smooth and fast regardless of the time of year. This course is a value-priced gem!
