Great course!
Awesome course! Went after course was opened after a few weeks of updates. The greens and fairways were immaculate! If it hadn't rained before we went, it would have been perfect.
Great course.
They recently closed the course for two months to change the greens to diamond zoysia and upgrade some different areas. It was money well spent and one of the most well maintained courses in the upstate.
Very over rated and over priced
The cart staff was friendly; not sure the shop staff. This course is very overpriced. Greens are beat up and very inconsistent. Some traps were fluffy while others were not. I would never recommend this course, and then to find out after the fact the cart was $20. Each. For a birthday surprise, the surprise was on me!
Awesome Course and Challenging
Very surprised at what a nice course this was. I've played other college courses and nothing so far compares to The Walker Course. Very well maintained course. Challenging greens in very good condition.
The staff member that was on duty in the pro shop was less than helpful which is a shame. The course was not overly busy when I arrived due to the heat; however, the staff member made me wait until my scheduled tee time and then didn't tell me when the person I was playing with arrived, so I was delayed when I got to the tee box because others had piled in, in front of me. Come on guys - female golfers deserve the same respect as our male counterparts. Be respectful.
Best
The most fun round of golf I've ever played!!!! Course was really enjoyable. Group of kids I front of me moved slow but gave me more time to enjoy the courses beauty.
The Walker Course
First time playing this course - what a pleasant surprise. The variations to the hole layouts was great and required a selection of clubs, you can't just hit a driver! Lots of hills and slopes that made placement of shots paramount. I walked the course which was somewhat challenging on the back nine, but easy to keep up with the pace of play. The scenery around the lake area is hard to beat, and playing over the lake is even more enjoyable. I will return to play it again.
Placement Course
Lots of blind tee shots so best to drive ahead and look at hole. Some awesome views on the back nine.
Plays very short from the ladies tees! Some tough greens with lots of break! Great shape for the time of year.
Great Time
Loved it!!! The course was in great shape and the views were great!!!
Fun day of golf
It was a great day to play golf. The fairways were a bit soggy, but that was because of the recent rain that the area had received. This is a beautiful and fun course to play.
not as nice of shape as I would have thought
All n all a pretty nice course but the greens are not what they should be.the facilities should stay open longer
Really enjoyed the layout of this course
I played here first in 95' when it first opened. Didn't remember a lot of the course, it was 19yrs ago. Why did I wait so long to return? This is a great track. You have to think on virtually every shot because it has endless risk- reward possibilities. Greens were really receptive and putted true. Fairways and traps were all well kept. Knowledge of the course is helpful because there are several different ways to play each hole. We actually picked up a walker playing the back that was familiar with the course and I shot better immediately. It's a little more expensive than some other local courses and is still played frequently. The only gripes I have are folks don't fix their ballmarks enough or very well when they do. Tighten up players! Also there could be better signage to help distinguish where the paths are taking you. This is a very memorable course with some beautiful holes that was a joy to play.
