About Oglebay
Oglebay is a 2,000-acre public park to some and a four-season resort to others. Guests can choose to stay in the Wilson Lodge or in cottages and estate homes. The park is a family-oriented place with the Good Zoo, Schenk Lake, gardens, hiking trails, horseback riding, an aerial challenge course and museums. The resort adds amenities such as tennis courts, a spa and multiple golf courses, bars and restaurants. The Crispin Center features an outdoor pool with inflatables, a climbing rock wall and the Fountains of Fun Splash & Spray attraction. Arnold Palmer designed the Klieves Course. The Robert Trent Jones Sr.-designed Speidel Course hosted the West Virigina LPGA Classic for 11 years. There's also a nine-hole par 3 and the 5,627-yard Crispin Course. Oglebay's sister park, the 406-acre Wheeling Park, is minutes away with the Bloch Memorial Golf Course, mini-golf, paddle boats on Good Lake, swimming at an outdoor Olympic pool and indoor/outdoor tennis courts.Facts

short, hilly, and no gps
par 4s are too short and par 3s are too long. course conditions were excellent, but just about every fairway is slanted…too hilly. would have been nice to have gps built in to the carts. most courses have gps in the cart nowadays. played on a friday afternoon and didn’t have to wait on any holes.
Palmer at Speidel
It was a hot day and we had the course to ourselves. The online rate was a great value for this challenging and well maintained course.
Slow play
Took 4 hours and 35 min to play 16 holes, rained out on the last two holes
Nice coarse.
Nice coarse and was a really fun play. Had a great time and will be back.
Always enjoyable!
This course is not overly hard as long as you keep your ball in play. However, if you put your ball in the wrong place the course has a way of punishing you more than what you might have expected.
Not recommended
I purchased 4 tee times through Golf Now for a price of 33$ a player..18 w/cart. I arrive and show women at clubhouse and she states there is an additional tax applied for WV tax and she states there is a historic tax fee applied as well? If you get a rate applied through Golf Now I believe they should honor the rate awarded.
Disappointing
Have played Palmer multiple times over the years and usually enjoy it. However today was not the case. None of the bunkers were raked and # of greens not rolled. Almost felt like the resort cannot operate the course any longer. The half way house was open at one point but then closed mid day as we were on the back 9. In addition there was no beverage cart at all on a beautiful Friday afternoon. For $80+ Fee not worth it at this point. Ogelbay needs to decide if they can operate a quality course as they are not keeping a course designed by Arnold Palmer to the standard it should be. Very disappointing.
