Clay, I loved this tip. My typical bunker shot is either a chunk which leaves it in the bunker or a skull which flies over the green. I'll try this at the range tomorrow and can't wait to see the improved results. Thanks!

What about when the bunker is hard pan with very little sand as is often seen in Arizona at the more affordable courses?
How do align your shot with your face open? Do you line as if square or according to the leading edge once open? I want to know where that bad boy is headed.
Can you help us with a drill or a mind picture on how to consistently hit behind the ball. I've done what you have recommended my 50+ years of golf and my biggest inconsistency is where I impact the sand behind the golf ball.
Does this apply to irons too?
