Couldn't you use this on a 3/4 swing to help keep your lead arm straight through the backswing and most of the way through the follow through?
I feel you forgot to mention that your weight is (mostly) on your lead side. But, what do I know?

Marting - does a strong left hand grip promote a more natural into the slot move and less twisting or roll to the face on downswing for a square impact.
