Golfer Reviews
Not even worth the low fee.
They pulled the “oh we aerated the greens” AFTER you pay. Ok, i get it but they piled all the slugs from the aeration in the fairways and around the green. They also had mowers on the fairways in the middle of the day, not only actively mower while you play, but literally driving right around you. I get the place is old and dumpy, but zero effort to make it a better environment. Wouldn’t go again, not recommended.
Rough conditions
Great course layout but in very rough shape . Cart paths are in terrible condition.
Gets a bad rep
I think because it has country club in the name people expect it to be the cream of the crop most taken care of course in an area, but honestly it’s a ton of fun. Lay out is great, the hole design is super fun, sure the fairways could use a bit of help but the greens were great and hard.
Money problems
Obviously the course owners are having money issues. The course is actually well laid out but the grounds are obviously not being kept up with. It’s too bad because the course is set up well to play on. The weather showed rain all day so not many people were there to be fair and rate of play was great. For $59 though I would have chosen Latona down the road and it costs about $45 with cart. Future housing development or warehouse looks like the future there unless something changes.
Course was in very bad condition fairways were saturated and muddy majority off tee boxes were in terrible shape and the greens had major bare spots . I have played this course many times before and was very surprised in the condition of the course
Sadly disappointed
I have played this course many times. I have told people the greens are always in great shape, regardless of the rest of the course. I can no longer say that the greens were terrible. The overall course conditions were poor.
Water!
Fairways starting to burn up. 2 weeks left?? Get some more water on it.
Book at your peril
I’d give this place .5 stars if I could. The course itself looked like a fun time however it was so overbooked it was unplayable. Teed off 9 am on a Saturday with the expectation that it would be busy. Played 3 holes in 1 an hour 15, as we approached the 4th hole there was a foursome on the green , a foursome in the middle of the fairway and two foursomes (separate groups ) on the tee waiting to tee off. We quickly booked another tee time at another course and left. The course layout and conditions give his place potential but the total mismanagement of course bookings and not monitoring pace of play make it unplayable. Expect a 6 hour weekend round.
Stolen putter
I made a long putt on the 9th hole and set my putter down to hold the flag for the 3 other golfers in my group. I went on to the 10th without it. When I got to the 10th green I noticed it was missing and went back for it but it had grown legs and walked away. So either the groundskeeper that was working next to the 9th helped himself or the 2 groups behind us. I spoke with the groups but the groundskeeper wasn't at the 9th anymore. I didn't see him until I finished my round using others putters for 9 holes. He said he didn't see it either.
I still have my Taylor Made red and black cushioned spider putter cover that matches the putter if the new 'owner' wants it.
ridiculous
Sunday golf can be slow. This was avoidable and ridiculous. They set tee times 8 minutes apart so they can get 7 groups an hour through. Should be 6 groups 10 minutes apart but they make more money that way. We had a morning tee time and teed off 23 minutes late. On the first tee a group of 4 all hit 2 tee balls (there's a driving range there yo). Then they let 2 consecutive twosomes go off without pairing them up. On Sunday morning?? Then after we stood around shot after shot and hole after hole, some idiot tells US to "pick it up" on the 12th hole. So we picked it up and left after the 15th hole since we were already on the course for more than 4 and a half hours. They will never get my money again.
A hidden gem
This course is challenging the rough around the greens is sparse but overall great greens and fairways highly reccomend for the price
Enjoyable
It had been years since I played here but I remembered that 10th hole. Overall the course is in good shape. The fairways were good and the greens, while on the slow side, rolled smooth. Pace was great until hit a roadblock of a foursome with seven holes to go. As a twosome playing behind a twosome we still came in under four hours. The cart paths were not in good shape and sand was inconsistent in bunkers but overall an enjoyable day on a very good design/layout.
Slowest Course in South Jersey
We live one hour from this course. We called ahead to assure public play. We were told to come after 1:30. We arrived at 1:45. We played 10 holes in three hours and gave up. We paid for 18 and we're not even offered an apology. The course is in rough shape. A lot of bare spots on the fairways from too much rain. Greens are good. Course layout was challenging ( what we saw of it). A lot of sand traps - not much water. Very inconsiderate players - and extremely SLOW. I would not recommend.
Fun course
10th hole is very challenging, can't just let it rip you have to really think where to place the ball. Fun course to play.
Good Sunday
The course was in good shape for this time of the year. Greens were good and fast. Fairways a tad long but it's late October. All in all, great course and priced nicely
We affectionately call that the beach hole
