Green Tree Golf Course

About
The standard 18-hole Green Tree Golf Course keeps in mind both skilled and inexperienced golfers. This public course has tight fairways lined with trees and greens of Rye Grass. The longest tees have a yardage of 5709, playing to a par of 70.
The golf course has three sets of teeboxes to provide an interesting game. There is also a driving range and practice green for beginners or those that would like some practice. The course is accessible from many major roads such as Routes 30 and 40 as well as the Atlantic City Expressway. The first shot is a difficult par-4 dogleg right that has water, bunkers, and heavy forest to look out for.

Cheap Fun Course
It was a good round. The course is a fun cheap course. Tee boxes are rough. Fairways have patches. Greens are small so have to be on point with your approach shot.
Lots of water and tight
Green tree is a little gem to work on your game. Grass driving range really helps you warmup. Drivable short par4s make it really fun and scoreable Greens can be a bit wet and slow due to drainage issues with creeks running thru but it’s good golf for cheap. It’s $35 at 2pm with a cart so you get what you pay for and it’s a very enjoyable round despite having to be decisive on which club to use because the course is TIGHT. Takes a few laps around to get it down.
Great little course bunkers are always raked and clean. Fairways ain’t the greatest greens are so so but nice little course great place.
Better than expected
Seen some rough reviews prior to showing up but don’t believe everything you read. 1 green was in rough shape but nothing crazy. The rest of the course was amazing. Although it stole at least 20 of my balls which had absolutely nothing to do with my terrible golf swing, everything was amazing.
Average but still fun
Our experience was OK. Sadly, we went later in the day and a large group in front of us was drinking and smoking pot, so they played really slow, needless to say. Nothing was done about it. I guess that is what you get in a weekend. One of the greens was TOTALLY decimated! Nothing was said to us about that ahead of time. As my one friend state, "We should have gotten money back on that hole alone!" The green was THAT bad.
We have played there before and had a good time, but always did so during the week. First time playing on a weekend-we will not make that mistake again. We like playing there-just not on a weekend.
Very nice course with early tee times available.
Very nice morning to get a 6:40 time and get out before the heat. Course was in good condition for mid-August and it was a fun round.
OK for the Price - Friendly Staff but Poor Condition
For the price, it’s a decent option in the beach area. The course conditions generally range from poor to terrible (one green was literally dirt with occasional patches of crab grab). There really are no fairways - more of just a mowed area vs. a non-mowed area. The routing has some good holes, but also some that are real head scratchers that just frustrate the player (good shots are often penalized). I know the name of the course is Green Tree, but they have a major tree crowding area and would benefit from at least doing some trimming. We literally couldn’t take a full swing on two tee boxes without hitting a tree branch.
With that said, the staff is really friendly and welcoming, the pace of play was good (under 4 hours), and the price is fair for what you get. For $30 including cart, it’s hard to complain. It just helps to know / expect this ahead of the round.
Course needs work
The staff is great. However the course needs a lot or work. Tee boxes are dirt. Fairways are patchy. Lots of weeds. Bunkers need sand. The green on hole #16 is complete dirt. No ball washers. If ownership put money into this course it could be worth it in the future.
Greens
Greens for the most part were challenging and in great shape
Good if nothing else Available
have driven past this course many times and at the last minute decided to play as time was good. First thing is no sign directing you to pro shop. tee boxes are pretty bad and the fairways were beat up however the greens were ok except for 2. bar staff was excellent and the food was reasonably priced and very good.
Good price for a shore course.
Played with my dad and brother as a group of three, Pace varies since the group sizes differ, a twosome ahead of us for the front nine that only played nine then a three some ahead for the back nine that we caught up to because they were behind a foursome. It was fine though since it is about half the price of most of the rest of the courses in the area. Conditions were a little better than when my dad and I played in May, was much hotter on the course though and we only ran into the refreshments cart around the turn so bring your own water to stay hydrated. Layout is nice for novices like myself, a good variety of left and right dog legs with some hazards.
Just OK
Inexpensive, nice layout and challenging greens, but fairways were in rough shape, no drinking water, ball washers were not working and play was very slow. You get what you pay for.
