Smyrna Golf Course - Regulation Course

Smyrna Golf Course is a city owned muni that is a pretty decent course. For the price I was happy with the layout and conditions. Other than the fist two carts I tried not starting and needing better signage we really didn't have any problems. Playing from the senior tees the course is relatively short at under 5300 yards but still fun with a bit of challenge. The par 5 13th hole measures around 465 and the most difficult for us old guys. But tee boxes and most fairways and greens are in above average condition for a muni. If you are looking for a good priced, fun and enjoyable 18 in middle Tennessee check out Smyrna GC.

I love Smyrna Golf Course. Open. Greens are well manicured. Solid distance from the whites. Easy course and wide open for the most part. Back 9 gets a bit more narrow. But overall a great experience. Being a Pilot as my profession I love getting to see planes takeoff and land during the round as well. The staff has always been friendly too. If it wasn’t for the 35 minute drive. I’d golf here 24/7.

Poor staff experience. Poor maintenance on the grounds.

Crazy Heat index , could use more water stations on the course. Greens were great , holding shots . Lil slow but rolled true. Fairways always need work it’s a Muni. Will play again.

Good greens, nice fairways, not much trouble on the front 9 though pretty wide open, back 9 is too but can get into more tree trouble. Overall a great course been coming for years and always had success. If you’re a beginner or intermediate player this is the course for you to get your confidence up and for a great price too.

Decent enough course for the money at a $40 hot deals rate for 18 but the guy working the counter was in a mood. When we checked in for the tee time the course was on a lightning break. Asked him about the timing and he said he’d let me know. Play resumes and I go back in. He acts like he hasn’t seen me and again says he’ll let me know. 30 mins later I go back in and he says he called me to the first tee. 10 mins later actually calls me to the first tee. 13 holes in another storm delay that washes out the course. Asked him about a partial rain check since I paid for 3 tee times and he said call GolfNow. True gem of a human being. If you’ve been golfing for very long at all, you know the guy.

Fairways were for the most part in good condition as were the greens. Layout was tough for a municipal course. Had a great time meeting new people who played at the same level I did.

Overall it’s a great course. It could be even better if people fixed their ball marks. The rough could be in better condition too with some new grass needed in areas.

Course is decent until you get to the greens... The greens have more potholes than I-24!
