Tour 18 Houston

It's a great course that has been impacted by a lack of rain.

Despite rain, course held up great. Staff was very nice.

The course layout was really cool. The designer did an excellent job mimicking some of the top PGA courses/holes across the country. Overall, the fairway and greens were in really good condition.

My only negative commentary would be about the amenities and the service. There was no mobile refreshment cart out that day. For the price i paid for the greens fees, I would’ve thought that I would’ve been able to treat my client to barbecue or some other type of neat feature on a Friday. Also, it was a touch pricey for a Friday morning at over $100 per person.

Other than the fairways being cut really short - probably due to lack of rain, the course was in terrific shape and the staff was very friendly.

It was my son and I's first time playing this course. It was and hours drive away and I have 3 courses near me if I desire to play. That being said, we would definitely go back and play it again soon and bring a friend. The course was fun, had some challenging aspect; especially the bunkers. I will do everything I can to stay out of them next time. Probably the fluffiest bunkers I have ever experienced. Thank you for the memories I got with my son.

There's simply not a better value in Houston. And to be on 18 replica holes of golf's greatest venues is pretty cool. You see those same holes on TV. We've been in a drought in Houston so the fairways were dry, but the greens were in good shape. Greens were Slow, but you have to keep them long in drought or they'll die. I DO wish they encouraged repairing ball marks a little more. I was practically alone in a late afternoon round mid-week. I highly recommend.

The course, personnel and pace of play were excellent. It’s been hot and dry here so everyone needs rain. The fairways are pretty dry now and watering isn’t going to fix them. Otherwise T18 is the best public course around

I am getting frustrated with golf in Houston. The courses want to charge a premium $ 120 per weekend round yet the course condition is not maintained to a standard that equates to what is being paid. I had numerous greens that were painted over on what appears to be fungus spots on green, numerous fairways are absolutely brown ( I’m assuming not enough water) and two bunkers were the sand was so little I felt as if I was hitting the liner. Then let’s talk about the pace of play…. Almost 5 hours to play and not one ranger asking the slow groups to pick it up. So slow the twosome I played with quit midway through back 9. I really love the track layout and staff are pleasant just wish the fees were going to the course and rangers attending to slow play.

To be fair, the staff was amazing. From the gentleman who informed me of a veterans discount to the starter, to the bar staff. All were welcoming, helpful and informative. Unfortunately the course is appalling. I understand that it’s hot and it has not rained, but the course was not well maintained at all. Although the greens were decent, the fairways were extremely poor, hard, and dry. It looked like an abandoned course at times. Don’t waste your money and time.

The greens and sand traps are in very good shape. The fairways are hurting for some rain. They are becoming very dry and crusty and you can see the track marks left by gold carts. Pace of play was excellent as the heat kept most normal people away. They could definitely use a few more water stations and some cups.
