Great course, poor service.
Started with rude greeting at proshop for payment. If you don't like your job, you don't have to exude that sentiment to your customers. Had to wait 10+ minutes for carts to be brought to us. No information requested or provided as we were first time visitors. Which direction to range, location of first tee, just go figure it out on your own.
Loved the golf course although it was right on the line of whether or not it should be open as the fairways were so wet (no one's fault). Great course, but below average experience - too bad.
PGA quality without the price
Absolutely beautiful course and clubhouse with very friendly and helpful staff from the pro shop to the marshals. Playing as a single I'm used to being ignored or worse hassled on a course, however everyone including the groups in front of me were very friendly and helpful, freely giving advice and letting me play through without any problems. If you want to play a quality course below the standard $300 green fee definitely look up Golf Club of Houston
The course was in great shape. However, the cart we got was not charged properly and was not functional after 15 holes. We pushed it back to the clubhouse but on a 97 F day , it really was a downer!
Smooth Greens and plenty of turf on Fairways
Another great round at GCOH. Course was well maintained and Smooth Greens. 9/10 on scale.
Really enjoyed this course. Only complaints were that there was no beverage cart and the fairways were so soggy tee shots kept plugging. I feel like at $100+ per round, a beverage cart is a must. Other than that, I look forward to my next round here!
4-some ahead of us was horrible - slow play & a hole behind all day. Not a single Marshall to move play along. - need to institute handicap & tee requirements to manage play. Long time before I return.
A bargain in Houston
Worth every penny. Played twilight 2 ax’s this month. Course in great shape. They air rated 2 weeks ago and greens are just filling in. Very true and tough. Fairways generous, rough not easy, it’s a good test.
Beautiful course. Well kept. Big golf course. Huge greens, get it close or accept the three putt.
Monday morning round
Course was practically ours for a majority of the morning. Course in great shape. A few greens still recovering from the freeze but rolled well and they put cups in places where you didn’t have to roll it thru them.
Course is in great shape. Punched greens about a month ago
Greens are almost fully recovered from aeration. They’re short on staff but still managing to do a great job. Great course to play a twilight round for $60; however, depending on pace of play u might not finish. We only played 9 cause it was too slow. Still worth it.
We had a 1pm tee time and arrived at :1215 to get checked in and warm up in the range. They informed us that there were no carts . Come to fiind out they had a morning tourney and must have overbooked the course based on number of carts . This is poor planning and based on the club and the rates they charge this should NOT happen. Very disappointed...by the way we finally got out cart to play at 1:25. With a 1pm tee time . SMH.
Greens were recently air-rated, so the roll is very bouncy and inconsistent. Seems that no one cares to repair their pitch marks, so greens are also littered. All in all I was a bit disappointed in the course condition. When it’s in good shape, this is easily one of the best public courses in Houston; just not this week. Still had a great time with friends out there, and the staff were friendly as per usual. There were some great twilight views as well. I’ll always return to this course, but will give it a few weeks to recover.
