I love playing here. Good value for money excellent facilities, smiling staff.
Great course and good value
Played the course twice over two days late Nov 25 when over from Australia. Staff were very friendly and the course was great, and good value for money. Enjoyed the first round so much, I backed it up two days later. 2nd round was played following a huge amount of rain, but the course was still okay despite the amount of water about. I played the second nine as the only one on the course. Would recommend this course.
Please get some water in the course
Course was fine, it was dry everywhere except for right around the greens which were overwatered and super soft. Main complaint is that it was hot and they have zero water coolers on the course. It’s an ok course and good value if you live close by. I drove an hour to play there, so I doubt I’ll be doing that again.
Greens are always very nice and fast as well
Great course for beginners and mid to higher level players as well
The Place to Play !!
Course is in Great Condition! Loved It and the best drink prices for beer and mixed drinks I’ve seen at any Course in the area! Don’t forget about the all Beef and Cheddar Hot Dogs!
Worst golf value in town.
$87 after tax for a late Saturday tee time is absolute highway robbery. I've played this course over a hundred times and have probably been loyal to a fault because of the history of the place. I grew up playing it before it closed and then supported it well after it reopened knowing they were putting money into the course and knew the condition it was in while closed. Ill pay $40-50 all day for this place. Maybe $60 for a weekend morning. But if I'm going to pay $87, I will be going elsewhere in this big ole city for significantly better value. Ive been okay with playing the ball below or above my feet on the teeboxes, the lack of water coolers, patchy greens, top soil bunkers, all of the random brush piles laying around, overbooked course and just overall underwhelming conditions. Maybe they are jacking up the price to lean out the morning tee times for the members, but I do not plan in returning for a while.
Really improved since last time here
Played in one of my traveling league tournaments here. Last time here, wasn't impressed at all. Fairways were shaggy, greens not the best. The course seems to have made major improvements since my last visit. This year, we had a lot of rain in spring and early summer followed along with lots of sunshine. That helps bermuda grass a lot. The fairways had nice cover, bunkers were decent, greens were a tad slow but very nice looking. The staff is super friendly. Very limited seating in pro shop, not much option for food. Seating outside of pro shop.
Meh
Course is subpar. Tight, patchy fairways coupled with slow, patchy greens. Accuracy is key on this course. Just another mediocre Texas course with houses crammed into any unoccupied space. Reminded me of a muni course, but slightly worse.
Fun, Forgiving and Friendly Staff
The golf course had a lot of good straightaways and a couple challenging water hazards, but fun. We got to use their demo cart which had GPS and rangefinding for the flag as well as Bluetooth audio and a built-in cooler. Starter, Marshall and all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. If this club wasn’t so far away from home, I would look at potentially joining their club. We were looking for a golf last minute for Labor Day Friday weekend and it was the most reasonable cost with good reviews and with in an hour of the West Spring area. I look forward to returning.
Won’t play again
I play a lot of golf, like a lot of golf. I’ve been to just about every public course in Houston, this is by far the worst value for your money. Fairways were long/patchy/dry , greens were hairy and slow, no water every so often like most courses. The pace of play atrocious. They are more worried about who’s driving the golf carts than cutting the grass or providing water for the golfers.
80 dollars for a course like this is highway robbery. Could not recommend NOT going to this course enough.
