Patterned after the successful Robert Von Hagge/Bruce Devlin-designed Walden on Lake Conroe, this course opened in 1982 and immediately became known for its numerous bunkers and lakes. Considered a shotmaker's course, this layout features over 100 bunkers and requires precise play throughout.
Holes of note are the intimidating opening hole-a long, bending par 4 with a lake guarding the right side. Beware of the pin placement on this multi-tiered green. No. 8 is a 429-yard par 4 that requires a long drive and perfect approach because of the channel that guards the tiny, bunker-loaded green. On the back No. 14 is the best, dominated by a large lake in the fairway. At 444 yards it also requires a challengingly long approach into a small green.
Getting there : From U.S. Hwy. 59 north, take the FM 1960 exit and go east for 8 miles to the course. The clubhouse is on the right side of the road.

Me and my buddies had a great time on the course. Please be aware. There are water hazards

The course was in very good condition and the greens were immaculate
Interesting layout
Nice golf course. Unfortunately they charge high rental costs for an old mix of clubs I got. 40$.
Clubs are not worth it.
Not in good shape
Played this course today for the first time in 25yrs and I was very disappointed. I haven’t been able to play here because this used to be a private club. Now I can see why they are offering tee times on GN because they have lost the course and possibly members. . The tee boxes had lots of bare spots as well as the fairways. The only good thing about today’s round was the greens even though they were super slow. I won’t be coming back to the course because it’s not even worth $50 much less the $69 that the charge. Do yourself a favor and go play Tour 18 instead at 2pm you’ll be better off.

Course pace was slow, greens were in good shape. A lot of homes along the course that can be hit. It was ok for the price
Glad I came back!
I used to play this course all the time years ago and it was getting in bad shape. It’s been recently bought and the new owners have done a phenomenal job on bringing it back to its glory days. Course was tough, bring lots of balls, and the staff was super friendly. Ended up staying for a round or two of beers and food. The food was fantastic! All around great day, and my expectations were low, so I was very impressed.
