Van Cortlandt Park Golf Course

Not really a lot of work from rangers and the starter. I play on Mondays because it’s usually the best day at the course but this past Monday was a 5 hour round with couple of groups with 3 empty holes in front of them making everyone wait. Staff said they told them to hurry and keep the pace but they didn’t listen. Staff doesn’t really have what it takes to move groups around and make a more pleasant experience.

I have played on this course many times over the years and I mostly enjoyed the experience, however, as of late, not only are the tea boxes fairways and greens poorly maintained, but it appears that the golfers have no etiquette as well. There are many divots not replaced, very long grass on the greens, tea boxes have severe wear and tear. I hope it's just the transitional phase and they're going to get ahead of it but this is mid-season and this should not happen. I would like to see golfers take better care of the grounds at which they play on such as replacing their divots as well as the ball drop marks on the greens. Overall, very disappointed with the upkeep.

I LOVE Vanny. But this Saturday was not it. We were stuck behind a foursome and a twosome that were part of the same group and were goofing off. As in filming instead of golfing. The ranger tried on multiple times to get them to move along, but they would not. We ended up skipping around as there was no way for us to even get in an acceptable number of holes for twilight. that said, there was a backup at the first hole caused by scheduling that the starter handled well by sending one foursome out to 15, but this was a mess.

Very good! Price is reasonable! I enjoy it! Will be back soon!

First of all, the fact that the oldest public course in America is in the Bronx is super dope! To add to that this course is in great shape, the price was friendly, pace was fast (it seemed most people were locals and play often), and its short but a challenging course all the same! Loved it and will absolutely be back.

My first impression was not the best because the gentleman in the club house when I was checking ignored me, after looking at me standing at the desk trying to check in. I had to get his attention to check me in, and when he did, he didn’t tell me the total or anything, just waved me off to tap my card. Then I stood there waiting for a receipt and the keys to the cart and he walked away saying “he just won money”. I had to get his attention yet again for him to finish checking me in and get the keys. It was extremely unprofessional and rude.

The woman in the snack bar area was very pleasant and made great drinks. The starters were great as well. Pace of play was a little slow because there were a lot of walkers. Course was in good shape though.

Fun course. 6k length ok. play back tees box. pace of play was 4 1/2hrs. greens could use a lower cut bit fuzzy. overall will come back. Son took me for $5!

I've been playing Van Cortlandt golf course for at least 10 years. The staff is friendly, the instructor, Paul is knowledgeable and very friendly and the course is always in great condition.
