The Resort Golf Club
About
The Resort Golf Club is one of Fort Worth's finest golfing destinations. The course sprawls across the rolling hills of north Texas and wraps around the shores of Eagle Mountain Lake. Mature live oaks line the narrow fairways, providing some tight holes with difficult shot selections that demand accuracy, but there are also holes with open, more forgiving tees. Golfers will want to make sure they bring a strong iron game when playing this golf course since there rock walls and bunkers strategically bordering the raised greens. There are also water hazards that come into play along the greensides and fairways. It is a golf course that will reward skill and strategy over strength alone. The 16th is one of the toughest holes but with a good approach and a bit of luck, there is an opportunity for a birdie.

Legacy course
Course challenging and people friendly. My only cons was the tee boxes were hard as concrete. Bring a ball peen hammer with you to get tees in the ground. Finally I didn’t like the golf carts shutting down if you got 2 feet away from their desired travel location. As an example I had to turn around on a par three believe it or not and it shut off and locked up. Fortunately I knew how to lift seat to disengage the cart and hand push it to where it would work again. Someone else might not know that and now you all of a sudden have the whole course backed up because of that
fun course
they are having trouble on several greens and are working on them, overall course was good
Good but not great
So the course is doing well but has room for improvement. Most portions of most greens and fairways were very good. Some of the greens had a small bare spot with recent plugs planted. About half of the bunkers were unusable as they were washed out full of mud. The pace of play was awesome as I got around as a single in 2 and a 1/2 hours. The value was also excellent.
Greens need work
The course layout is good. The greens were in rough shape and the bunkers needed work. The course seemed to be over watered.
Nice course
Haven’t played here for several years. Course was in good condition! Recent rain caused a couple issues but not bad
Slow play Sunday
Almost 5 hour round. Course was in rough shape greens only thing that were okay.
Not for beginners
It’s been twenty years since playing regularly. Newly retired and ready to play weekly, so the course was tough for not playing in awhile.
8:45a 3hrs no issues
gentleman in the pro shop checked me in and gave a few tips on the course layout. Single started on 10@8:45a, 20+ wind 70-80 degrees, 3/31. Played through two groups but amazed how awesome pace of play was..very satisfying. Ground is hard but it’s Texas..as expected.. pick it clean. Strategy is necessary but it’s open enough you can still play misses and be in play. Marshall (pro shop) driving around checking pace of play and asked my thoughts of the course during the round. Just good people and appreciated. Better conditions than fossil creek, hidden creek, whitestone, and cross timbers at the current time. All holes open no maintenance…but heard they are aerating 4/6 heads up! Didn’t stop at turn so not sure on drinks/food
Fair price but not an enjoyable round of golf
The breakfast in the bar was the highlight of the day. Great sandwich and burrito. The course had some fun holes but the layout is dangerous and ridiculous at times. Several times driving backwards green the green into on coming players approach shots along with too many blind shots. Hard to see groups in front. No course marshal or starter to regulate play. We had a single in front of a 2some. We ended up asking the single to play with us. Several times it was difficult to figure where to go from 1 hole to the next. Real estate & maximizing the # of homes was definitely the priority. Houses very close to the fairways and tee boxes. Finally there is hardly any grass on the course at all. It’s not just dormant, it’s non existent in many areas. Bunkers are not raked or maintained, 1 fairway has a lake in the middle of it even though the weather has been really nice. Fairway wasn’t draining into the lake for some reason. Overall one of the least emotionless rounds I’ve played in a long time. Luckily it was only $45 after tax on GN.
