About
Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, the links-style Golf Club at Fossil Creek was nominated by Golf Digest as one of the best new public golf courses in Texas when it opened in 1987, and has lived up to that advance billing since then. The course is scenic, with massive trees, limestone bluffs, bubbling creeks, and numerous lakes that bring water into play on 15 of 18 holes. The course boasts pretty rolling fairways and 18 testing holes all intertwined throughout streams created by Fossil Creek. It's surrounded by rocky-ledged creeks and crystal lakes.

GPS
I wish they add GPS to the carts. It is a nicely layout course but need a better mapping and yardage for players.
Last Minute Selection
Cours was great. I love this course layout. Pace of play was decent. The course was in acceptable condition. I do wish they would on their tee box maintenance and leveling but wasn’t too bad.
Fossil at it's best
Except for the dump trucks that were running up the cart path and making giant trenches around teeboxes and fairways, the course is in as good a shape as it's ever been The layout has easy, hard and memorable holes. They have always had inconsistent wet spots around greens to stop you from bouncing shots up, making them plug. That's my only annoyance really, when greens are hard, sometimes you need one big bounce and it plugs instead. But overall the course is on a great piece of land and we'll play it over and over again.

Quality Experience
I took my 12 year old son out for a 6:30 tee time and we were able to play 10 holes before running out of golfing light. He's new to golf and I only get to play once a year or so. I had accidentally messed up the date when I scheduled the tee time, but the staff at Fossil Creek was very accommodating and helped me get it corrected. Excellent customer service. Other golfers out on the course were polite and clearly enjoyed the Fossil Creek environment.

Good Condition
Fossil Creek surprised me with how good condition the course is considering the amount of play it gets. Tee boxes could use a dressing and some more water but the fairways were in good shape, the bunkers are acceptable and the greens are surprisingly good. The greens do have a lot of unrepaired pitch marks. They do roll well and are pretty fast.
I fixed several, if we'd all do that, it wouldn't be an issue. All in all a good deal for the money.

I am not a good golfer and have played some more forgiving courses, this place was awesome but challenging. Thanks for having me, 10/10 would shank again.

Excellent condition
This is the 1st time playing here, I was impressed!
The staff was friendly, course was in excellent condition (except for the overgrown Dalisgrass along some creek edges) and the layout was challenging.
The only minus were the carts: no GPS course maps or ball/club wash.

Absolutely perfect
Perfect course conditions, perfect weather (after storm blew through), perfect pace of play. Greens were their usual very smooth and fast even after punch cutting. Tees and fairways in ideal condition. One of the best public courses in all DFW and got a very good deal on it as well. Really can’t get any better of a round for late June or anytime of the year. Excellent!!

Awesome day at great course in perfect shape
Love this course and the course and weather conditions were ideal. Blazing fast greens tgat still stink at getting right speed. They are so much smoother and faster than any other course I play in DFW tgat it takes some getting used to. They also put some holes in the mist sadistic places but that part of it. Just awesome conditions and wasn’t pathetically slow, just normal slow.

Better bring your game
Course was in excellent condition.
Greens are fast and true, in spite of all the rain in DFW, it wasn't a round of mudball.
Glad we had a person familiar with the course, because you're not sure where you want to go or how.

Pace of Play
The course is incredible but pace of play was brutal. 45 minutes through the first 1.5 holes. Tried to bounce over to the back but story was the same. 25-30 minutes to play a hole is not doable.
