The Golf Club At Fossil Creek

Overall a great course, but almost all the greens were lost. It was a fun course, but for $100+ nothing was said about the greens condition. Rest of course was in good shape, but disappointing about the greens.

I have played Fossil creek multiple times over the last years. This year, they have completely lost the greens. At the is point outside of a couple of holes they are mostly sand. We played on a Saturday afternoon and it was clear that the hole locations hadn’t been recut or moved in a week in part because they could only put them in spots where even a minimal amount of grass existed. They are in the same spot that Cowboys club was last year before closing to rebuild the course. It’s a shame as this is a fun course layout, but not worth the rate if the course is in such terrible shape

Always enjoyed this Arnold Palmer design, until yesterday. The course made no mention of the greens being sanded and no grass on many. Not all but most of the greens are hurting. Again my issue is there was no mention of greens under repair. I noticed the practice green had sand on it so I inquired upon check in and was told they are hoping to revive their greens in the next couple of weeks.

Enough of that.

My major concern is the shrinkage of the greens. I have been a patron for 15 years. In that time the size and dimensions of all the greens have got significantly smaller. So much so that my playing partner observed it and asked was he imagining it or was it so?

Are they cutting corners financially?

I do not know.

I believe if Arnold saw it now he would be rolling over in his grave! Sad.

Sooooo disappointed in this course.

After driving almost an hour to this goat track!

First they claimed they did not have me in the system for 3 people (only for 1). Had to battle with Alex at the front desk!

Then the course conditions (greens in particularly) sucked!

I brought my brother and good friend there for his birthday and wanted him to have a great experience, but it was extremely sub par!

For almost $100 per player and $286.00 later this course was awful!

I have been in this Metroplex for 30 years and have played this course at least 15 times. Rest assure I’m not coming back!

I really want my money back! That’s how bad it was on the greens.

Might have simply been a bad week, but the greens were horrendous. Nobody mentioned they had been punching or aerated. I’ve played here after aeration before and it was ok, this time it was horrible. The ball could not roll straight on the greens. It was later in the day but still only a Thursday, so I was shocked that every tee box have no more green to hit from. Also, cart girl was only seen once.

I’ve played here dozens of times and am a big fan of the course. This time was just very disappointing to see specifically the greens and tee boxes in such rough shape with absolutely no heads up. Genuinely only gripe, hopefully this was excused by a bad week and not the new norm for FC.

Greens are completely toast. Maybe 2/18 greens were even playable. Pretty much putting on punched packed down dirt and weeds painted green. Fossil creek is a $35-$40 course at best until they can get the greens grown back.

Three others in my group visiting from Australia paid “member pricing” while I paid $108. Called the clubhouse on the first hole after learning this, staff told me they paid $108 just like I did.

Somewhat fun layout, very forgiving, greens were in terrible shape.

Even if it was in better shape, it still wouldn’t be worth $100+ charge for a Saturday afternoon time.

The fairways were great but the greens were horrible. Mostly all greens are being repaired, not much grass on most of them. I didn’t see this mentioned on line or when we checked in at the pro shop. Pace of play was very slow and Marshall only came around once to get the groups ahead to speed up. Didn’t work, the groups ahead were always looking for their golfballs. So frustrating.

This course will keep you on your game! It has everything. Bunkers, water, cliffs, creeks,.....did I mention water!?! Don't miss the fairways, play the course the way it was designed. You might have to keep the driver in your bag on some of the holes, even a par 5. Have fun!

Another good round at Fossil Creek. Fairways were in good condition. The greens were a little rough in a few spots but actually good considering we just came out of a freeze. Club house, restaurant, range, and starter all good! Pace of play perfect. Course cart service also excellent. A few of the water features could use a cleanup. It’s too bad trash blows over from the apartment complex and ends up in the ponds. But great value and we’ll definitely be back.

The course is in great shape. There are wet spots due to leaky irrigation pipes. Tea boxes are in great shape. Greens are extremely fast and a lot of the waterways need to have the grass cut and cleaned up.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience playing with Rick, Chuck, and Tim. I am eager to return and participate in another game. The course was exceptionally beautiful and meticulously maintained throughout.

I wish they add GPS to the carts. It is a nicely layout course but need a better mapping and yardage for players.
