Super fun little course and great value!
I only discovered Mainlands about 2 months ago. I run Gaspar Golf, with 3 leagues and an amateur tour in the Tampa Bay Area, and one of my players told me how fun it is to play. The pace of play is also excellent, and the greens are in very nice shape. Not fast, but very smooth on most greens. There are a few par 4 holes you can get to off the tee, which is fun. The front and back 9 each have a par 5 hole, but it's not the length of a standard championship course, so you can finish 18 holes in 3 hours if it's not too crowded. The price is great too, which helps in the current crazy golf market where average courses are charging $90-100 to play. We ran into these 2 young ladies on the first tee, and while we didn't play together until the last 3-4 holes, we had a chance to chat with them the entire round. It's great to see younger people getting into golf, especially girls. It was a fun Friday afternoon at the Mainlands in Pinellas Park. If you're looking for an inexpensive golf course to play in the afternoon, the value is definitely there at this little 55+ community course.
Great local option for a quick round
Booked an early morning tee time through GolfNow and had a smooth experience from start to finish. The course is very convenient to get to and has a relaxed, welcoming feel.
It is a solid layout for all skill levels and fairly forgiving in spots but still requires some shot control on certain holes. Greens were in good shape and pace of play was excellent for an early tee time.
Overall, a great option if you’re looking for an accessible course to get reps in. I’ll be coming back.
Early Rise
We were the 2nd group out, played 18 holes in 2 hr 25 min.
Tee boxes and greens are fantastic, fairways are thin (rolled the ball over a couple of times)… good value $$
We will be back soon!!
Better since greens are redone
Fairways had a lot of thin and dry areas but overall it is a lot better since the greens were redone. Pace of play wasn't bad for an evening.
5.5 hours to play a 4000 yard course
Staff is friendly and the greens are in good shape but every single hole had 4 groups on it. Shamefully overbooked.
What a great course
My first time playing and this course did not disappoint. The greens were amazingly well taken care of and the pace of play was very reasonable. The staff was friendly and attentive and I accidentally left my wallet and phone in the golf cart and when I came back 30 minutes later they had it behind the counter. I will be back for sure. Highly recommend this challenging course.
Good value for the buck
Course was playable. Not great, but I have played WORSE! Great use of the power supply lines running through the community thought. Needs water like everything in the area right now. Not long, only used driver twice I think. Still, for the price, it was fun. Oh and the Cuban Sandwich from the food trailer at the turn was AMAZING!
For the money!
If you want a perfect course go pay $100+ in greens fees. If you wanna go out and play a nice little course at a reasonable price. This is your place!
Nice course
This is a delightful course to play. You get a chance for some long shouts and several short holes that make it interesting.
Retiree Visit
Course Executive layout was fine. Pace of play was a little slow as course was full. Unfortunately, the course grass had not started growing yet and one of my friends was constantly complaining about the lack of grass.
