Over booked!!!
We had a 9:15 tee time on a Tuesday morning. Arrived at 1st tee(9:05) only to be lined up behind 5 other groups(yes 10 carts)!
Finally teed off slightly before 10:00. The front 9 took us 2.5 hours to play. On our way to #10, the first tee was still lined with carts.
Didn’t finish until 3:00 as play crept along all day.
They are obviously overbooking taking advantage of the seasonal heavy play but tee times should be spread out even at the cost of the course losing a bit of revenue!
Add the $85.00 rate and it was an overall nightmare! Oh by the way, there very little grass on the fairways. Greens are fast but many had little weed tufts.
I live in Florida and appreciate that courses need to optimize the busy season but this was highly mid-managed! I guess they look at the lines of players backed up on the first tee and say “success”!
Slowest round ever.
I do not mind waiting on public courses but the mismanagement of this course is another level. T time was 11:00, I got off #1 at 11:45. Paired with a nice couple. After 3 hours we are on #9 they left. I made it to #12 an hour later and left myself. Nice course it’s a shame it extremely poorly managed.
Great facility. Too slow.
5 hours 20 minutes on a Tuesday at 11 am. Enough said. Also, nice rental clubs for a traveller t350s but $69 is steep. Lovely cart lady and staff.
The 5 Hour & 40 Minute Round of Golf
I had 3 friends come visit from out of town to play golf. Although Bardmoor is a bit more expensive than most public courses in the area, I convinced them it was worth the money. I was wrong. This was the worst round I’ve ever experienced at Bardmoor. Booked a 1052 tee time for Saturday March 21st. I check-in at the clubhouse and got to the tee box around 1035. The starter shows me on his sheet I was bumped to the 1100 tee time without any explanation. We did not end up teeing off until 1115. The pace of play was brutal. We waited every single shot. When we got to the second tee box, there was a group standing on the box waiting to hit their drives, a group behind them, and then our group. It was very common all day for there to be 2 or 3 groups waiting on a box at a time. When we were waiting to tee off there was a group of 3 foursomes, younger guys, who all clearly knew each other and were together. They were probably 6-8 groups ahead of us. Once we got to the back nine, I noticed they had grouped together and had been playing as two different sixsomes. Now I know why the pace of play was the worst I’ve ever experienced. There were no rangers on the course all day and they let these guys do whatever they wanted. I called to report it to the clubhouse because the pace was so slow and it was clear that it was the two groups playing as sixsomes fault. It’s possible that someone came out and made them play as foursomes again, but my group never saw anyone go up to them and the pace continued to be extremely slow. Had a 1052 tee time and finished my round at 430pm. Five hours and forty minutes to golf 18 holes. I played a golf outing at Bardmoor before that we played 18 holes in 5 hours. When you pay over $130 per person for a round of golf, you would expect some of that money would go to having a ranger or two on the course at all times to make sure these kind of things don’t happen. Probably won’t be coming back here in the spring when all the tourists are here. They clearly just pack way too many people on the course. A slow round of golf should be 4.5 to maybe 5 hours at the most. Two stars because the course is always in decent shape. The rough was mostly dirt with bad grass. I’d recommend spending your money at Cove Cay or going over the Sky Way Bridge to play some cheaper courses that are just as nice and have good pace of play instead of playing at Bardmoor.
Pace of Play
I was warned when I checked in but there were too many golfers packed in to the course
I like the course though
Slow play
Pace of play 5 hours at best. No marshaling just a starter.
Excellent Value, Excellent Experience
I’m a newer golfer, and this was my first time playing Bardmoor. That being said, I got paired up with two gentlemen that play here often and the grounds were unbeatable for the price. Tee boxes were taken care of, healthy grass, and firm greens. Fantastic design that created challenges for both me as a newer golfer and the two others that were already familiar with the course without making it so difficult that I struggled. Fun course design and a great time for all golfers.
1st Annual Fuss Family SonShine Cup Championship Round
I took my sons to Florida for a 3 day golfcation and chose this course as the championship day final round. We were paired up with a single player which was perfectly fine, Tom McMahon... Excellent player and he kept us on our toes for the day. We all struggled with the low wedges as the ground was not in great condition leading to chunking the balls... The most challenging part of the course was the super slick greens... VERY FAST, but they held the ball on proper approach shots... but chipping and texas wedge was pretty difficult often flying way past the hole... Great day of golf, but the pace of play at first was unreasonably slow as we were held up until hole 5 before it broke loose... Total time to golf was 5 hours 20 minutes.
Slow pace
It took us 3 hours and 10 minutes to play 9 holes. Two foursomes ahead of us did not have good course etiquette or golf rules. No monitor on the course to keep pace moving.
We quit after 9 holes, not worth the 10 minute wait at each tee box.
pace of play
We teed off at 6:45 AM for a reason.
it took us 1:20 to play the front and 2:30 to play the back because you left a bunch of nine holers out the back and we waited to play every shot-two groups on every tee box
Pace of play
3 hours to play 9 holes after the first tee was 30 minutes behind. We quit at the turn, absolutely awful.
Low end public, “public” course. Huge wait time on 1st tee (even when we made the turn!). Ranger never tried to push things along. Teenagers ahead of us played as a 7-some!! Ranger did nothing despite politely asking 3 times. Course condition is poor. Greens fast but infected with Poa. Course hasn’t seen water in a while!
Great round!
The course overall is in very good shape! It is challenging and forgiving with course management in mind.
