Summer Day in Spring for Golf
Really summer like day for mid-April in Virginia and the course was very busy affecting pace of play, but not too slow just a few waits. Fairways were in good shape and greens were well groomed and had good speed. Was a great day to be on the course.

Tough challenge
Course was tough for a fist time. Blind shots, fairways were firm, penalized bad shots. Greens were firm and ball rolled true.

Great course!
Play here twice a month. Always enjoy the staff and the course. But today, PHEW!, it took 4:45 to play on a weekday! First nice, sunny day and everyone was out!

The course was in modest shape for this time of the year, doing work on some tee boxes, spreading manure etc. but still a great day of golf. The greens were smooth and quick! 4:45 round for mid l-day on a Thursday is abysmal in my book but whatever. Love the course layout:

Looks Better Online
I was disappointed with this course. The photos make it look much nicer than it really is. It’s a municipal course with an unwelcoming atmosphere. Both staff and members were rude, and my early morning tee time was wedged between a league scramble tournament (something that should have been mentioned online or at check-in). When I asked for help, no one could tell me where to pick up a cart or how to handle the situation. They were more worried about the scramble.
For the price, the experience just wasn’t worth it. I played at Raspberry Falls the next day and had a completely different, far better experience. My advice: spend the extra $20–$30 for a nicer course.
I wouldn’t recommend this one unless you’re trying to save a few bucks, or are into the “muni, frat/good ole boy” vibe.
