Glen Abbey Golf Club

It should not take 5hrs to play a round of golf, 2 people in my group had to leave because they had other engagements.

was expecting over played, beaten up, crowed and 5-hour round. To my pleasant surprise club link hasn't let this place go. I had to show my grandson the coarse as he learned of it history and his mom growing up around the corner and me playing it 10 times before. Happy to say they have kept is good. 4;40 minutes too long a round and it wasn't us, we were right on the pace with group in front only waiting on shots esp in the valley holes. greens decent only allot of poa sneaking in on all of them rolling resort like 10. tee boxes showed popularity shall we say. all in all don't feel like it was rip off and priced right for what you get.

Pace of play extremely slow. No marshall on course to enforce pace of play. Groups cutting holes ahead slowing down play.

Course conditions were ok but not for a course like glen abbey.

At the end of the round, shuttle worker laughed in the face of a player in our grouping after being asked if there’s shuttle service back to the parking lot.

For the price and the reputation of Glen Abbey, the customer service, conditions, and enforcement of the rules that make golf enjoyable were deplorable.

Recommend taking your money elsewhere to a course that reflects the price.

It's always fun to go play a course that had been home for so long to the Canadian Open.

The Good: Some nice holes. Lots of bunkering throughout the course. Plenty of water hazards. Friendly staff. Free access to the driving range before the round.

The Not So Good:

Greens were in not great condition. Some disease and all pretty slow. (I was told by a local that they were in fantastic condition last season. It's still early in Ontario. So who knows?)

Bunkers: a few were in total disrepair; most of the rest that I saw were unraked with many, many footprints.

I did not see access to potable water on the course.

Note that this is a mandatory cart course. The cart fee is part of the green fee. But there is no option to walk.

As spring conditions

A marked improvement in the course conditions. Third time playing GA this year and it was excellent. Will be back soon!
