Country View Golf Club
About
Ron Garl came to Lancaster, Texas in 1989 to build Country View G.C., a truly unique course. No. 7 is the most difficult hole -- a long dogleg right with water in play off the tee and in the fairway. Also, get ready for no. 15, a unique par 3 that features a green completely surrounded by huge trees. Most of Country View's tee boxes are elevated and there is water in on over half of the holes.

Nice Municipal Course
Pleasantly surprised upon arrival. Facility was dedicated in 1989 so it did show some signs of age. Otherwise the grounds were clean and as good a shape as could be expected with the amount of heat that DFW has been experiencing. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I plan on making this one of my go to courses.
Just Okay
The course was challenging with elevated greens, elevated tee boxes, and lots of blind corners. Greens were VERY fast.
The golf cart was absolutely horrendous and felt like we were about to lose a wheel at any moment and it kept jerking to the right.
The course is confusing in terms of being able to find the next hole if you’ve never been there. Luckily we played with a regular who knew the course really well.
Not worth returning!
First time playing this course. Comparing to every course played before, it is last on my list. Course has a ton of potential to be a great course, however seems to be the least of their worries. Carts may be on the verge of having a wheel fall off and the amenities are very minimal. Pace of play is okay, if you are on the first tee times. The layout is probably a work in progress, but without the progress part. Would not recommend and most likely my first and last time playing there.
Great course for the money
Fairways and greens were in great condition. The first tee box is a kind of over grown but for 23 dollars this course is hard to beat. Super cool course layout as well!
Substandard Course
Course was not taken care of, golf carts are about to die on you or a tire might go flying off any moment, and way over priced for the type of course.
Decent value for $
The course was unique layout for good shot making. Sat morning and several groups trying to playing 5-6 and sharing clubs that the marshal never really handled made for very slow play
Good bang for your buck
Really enjoyed the layout of the course. Looks like they recently aerated the greens but they they still rolled pretty good. The staff was very friendly. I will definitely be returning.
Boomers
The olds really have a strangle hold here. If you catch up to them… you’re gonna be a while
Nice course - elevated greens - shorter
Good course to challenge your short game while not being hit hard by excessively long drive requirements.
Not worth the cost
Everyone was nice and cool and it had rained the week before but I could’ve picked 10 courses that were not as expensive but much better than this one, left up signs from old tournaments, no sand at all, not griping but you just see ditches where traps were, my brothers and dad were not too happy I picked that course but I remember it being much better hopefully with the money they are charging they can make it better.
Horrible condition and kayour
This layout is horrible most of it’s taken up by a creek and overrun. It also has a terrible pace of play and don’t know how to stack teetimes to prevent you from sitting there and waiting for 30 minutes at each hole.
Tee boxes are trashed
Tee boxes are trashed, fairways are good except if you kissed the fairway sometimes you wouldnt find yiu ball cus the grqss being so tall. Greens were nice.
Great Course but no cart person
The course is in good condition. The greens rolled true and the fairways were excellent condition. The water coolers on the course didn't have ice in them and it was 97 degrees. I think its criminal in Texas in the summer not to have a cart pperson. My only other complaint is I was told that the kitchen open at 11 a.m. I usually dont eat before getting to the course because I try to spend money with the course. But there wasn't anyone in the kitchen.
