About
While it hasn't received as much publicity as the other Hill Country tracks since it opened around 1990, Crystal Falls Golf Club is definitely worthy of praise. Highlighted by one of the greatest par 3s in Texas and some outstanding topography, this is one of those courses you'll want to play at least once, if only for the views. In addition to the scenery, the main thing everyone talks about here is the severely sloping fairways that provide problems for those who hit the ball left-to-right. The famous par 3 in question is the 192-yard 11th, featuring a phenomenal view and a 200-yard drop to the green. Club selection is a crap-shoot at best, and the green is surrounded by mounds.

Golfer Reviews
Horrible experience
What i pay for at a golf course is the experience. The experience here was horrible. This is greed at its finest. Wasted 59$ to attempt to play at this course(the last money they will ever see from me). Expected me to know they have a no riders policy (more money if we can limit the carts). Left here and went to lions. They gave me a discount(compared to what i booked online)and didn't bother me about a cart fee or anything. Great experience at lions on the west side of Austin.
Crazy course
Definitely not a easy walking course. But overall fun considering some greens had been sanded and there were some inconsistencies but decent price.
6 hr rpund
Dreadfully slow. 6 hr round. It’s an interesting layout with some really pretty views. But…course was in marginal condition with crows foot that had taken over most of the greens. A little herbicide would go a long long way. Have played here several times but’s it’s definitely headed in the wrong direction. Sad really. Staff was friendly though.
Great afternoon choice
Fun, challenging course, with great elevation and lots of water holes. If you can hit them straight, you'll love it here. If , bring extra balls.
Great Layout & Views, But Needs Better Conditioning
Good layout, solid design, and a nice scenic view throughout the course. That said, conditioning needs work — greens had sand inconsistencies and there was noticeable weed growth in the fairways/rough. Maintenance hasn’t kept pace with the quality of the layout and views.
Slow Pace
Had to wait on multiple groups on front of us at each tee box
Course upkeep is needs help
Layout of the course is great and challenging but the conditions very spotty. Greens seem to have more weeds than grass. Thought I was playing plinko on the greens.
A Bit Disappointed…
This round was a bit disappointing. While the layout of the course is fantastic, with many scenic and challenging holes, the course itself was in rough shape.
Greens had recently been punched and sanded (no mention of this on GolfNow or at the pro shop on check in), and there were significant areas of the course marked “ground under repair).
I have played this course before, and this time around it was definitely in below par shape. Hopefully they can get it sorted, as this would truly be an excellent course when in top condition.
Plinko Greens
Friendly staff and a great layout. Greens were just a huge letdown. Patchy and sandy at best, but for $45 hard to complain too much.
sub par greens
hilly course with lots of character. Conditions were fine except for the greens. We've had more rain the last couple months than usual so I was hoping the bermuda greens would be in nice shape but was sadly very disappointed. Lots of bare spots and weeds on the putting surface and very dry and slow. Not sure how to explain but something not right. I won't make the drive til the greens are re-done.
First time player
Overall course was in good shape. Greens were punched and sanded, and greens looked tired. Let's give the greens 2 weeks.
