Avery Ranch Golf Club is a part of the Avery Ranch residential community, 20 minutes northwest of town, that was carved and blasted out of the rocky ranchlands along Brushy Creek. This historically significant area was once home to Indians and robbers, who were drawn to this beautiful setting thick with dense oaks, meandering creeks and abundant wildlife.

The golf course was designed by former Jack Nicklaus designer Andy Raugust, who literally had to use dynamite to blast rock out of the landscape for five holes. His design features two potential signature holes on each nine.

No. 7 doglegs left, and features two scenic carries -- one off the tee and another on the approach. The hole is rather short, providing the chance to be in good position for this most spectacular approach shot on the golf course. Staring at the multi-level green, you’ll notice the huge rock wall fronting the green, the large bunker to the right, and the native cacti to the rear.

Avery Ranch Golf Club's 13th is sure to be considered one of the best par 3s in the Austin area. The 161-yard par 3 features water on the right side, impressive, towering oaks in the back, and a unique ridge of rocks to the right of the green. The reasonable distance makes it a fun challenge, and the hole features a bail out area in case of a miss

Bad bunkers and beverage cart service.

Solid golf course. Good condition and handsome layout. The bunkers were bad. No beverage cart service. Overall it was good. Not great. Falconhead is overall better.

Embarassing Bunkers

Overall good course but the bunkers are an absolute embarrassment. Worse I've ever seen, and unconscionable for a course at this price point. Rest of the conditions were above average.

I’ll be back

I’ve played Avery 4-5 times and it’s always been consistently really nice. Course is in excellent condition and the price is more than fair.

Great to see what the new owners are doing

I’ve played here probably 75ish times and the course is in as good of shape as always. I still think it’s stupid that they charge $18 for a medium of range balls. But at least the afternoon tee times are so stupid expensive and I was able to play a full 18.

Overpriced

Should be a municipal public course for $70. But it charges $190 and the course is not in great shape. Definitely would never play here again. Not worth the cost

Overpriced

Basically a decent public municipal course with a country club pricing. $190 for a round for a $70 course. Tee boxes worn down and sowing dirt with not much grass. Greens soggy. Not worth the price at all!!

Great Experience

I had a fantastic day at Avery Ranch. The only thing I didn't like was they have mats for the ranch but the course is beautiful and the staff was very nice as well. Look forward to playing there again.

Things have changed

For the price it’s not worth it, granted the course itself is great minus the cheap material used for the traps. No Marshall the entire round and was waiting for an eternity for every shot. Only saw the beverage cart on the first and 4th hole and when we stopped at the turn no employee was to be found to buy a snack and drinks. Also the water coolers on back nine were empty. Overall very disappointed in what has become of this beautiful track. If they want to charge country club level pricing there should be country club amenities.

Avery Ranch

The course management was absolutely terrible! We waited an average of 10 - 15 minutes between eqxh hole to tee off. Saw the cart girl twice on the front 9 and never again on the back. Also stopped at the clubhouse on the turn, waited for 5 - 10 minutes and nobody was there to take a food or drink order. For the cost this course was not worth it. Has definitely gone down hill. There was also tons of rocks in the sand traps.

Love this course! Needs more water stations.

This is our first time playing this course. We loved it. It is tough for sure. We are relatively new beginners but got paired up with the best folks ever! The one complaint I have is the driving range was completely full at 7:30 AM as we tried to warm up. Seems that people just camp there and don’t play. They could also use a more water stations around the course. Love having the Marshall come around and talk about the pace of play. With a foursome, we finished in four hours and 15 minutes. Will definitely play this course again.

PS. Carry womens stuff in the pro shop! We are a driving force. ⛳️
