Cortez Golf Course

I played this course while visiting the area and my thoughts are:

1. The course is in great condition. Tee to green, no issues.

2. I played by myself and course knowledge would have helped. Shot an 86...handicap is 14 so it was right in line.

3. The course has a few tight driving holes. Not awful but certainly not wide open.

4. One of the par threes is 161 with a sand bunker in front. The rest is all water.

5. Greens were smooth and reasonably fast. Especially as they dried out.

6. For the visitor price I would expect free range balls and GPS.

7. It's truly 45 minutes from Hot Springs. Only 25 miles but the max speed is 45 with lots of turns.

Among the 8 HSV courses, Cortez is #1 because.the greens staff keeps Cortez in excellent shape year round. The views, the wild life, and the helpful golf shop staff add to the enjoyable outing, as does the 5 star food at the restaurant on the premises.

Excellent course layout. Will like to come when the fairways and rough awaken. Greens where a bit slow

Pat Keller, in the pro shop, was the rudest, unaccommodating, most condescending staff I have ever encountered at a golf course in my 35 years of playing. She ruined the day. It’s a shame, because the golf course would have been enjoyable.

Enjoyable course to play. I little tight in some spots but it's very playable. Well-maintained good condition course very friendly staff

Solid course, the value exceeds the cost paid. All facilities in good shape. Bent grass is suffering in spots due to the heat and dryness in July but sure to be excellent soon. Not bad now! Busy course and played a bit slow due to art path only. Enjoy a round here! Will return....
