Burnham Woods Golf Course

The greens are overgrown and fluffy. some green have major patches under repair. almost had to take drop after ever shot due to heavy leaves in the rough and around the greens. good lyout they just need some better ground keepers

If you like to play early before anyone else is around, this is your spot!!!

For the price, the course superintendent co could place a priority on clearing the leaves at the fairway edges. Also, a little tree trimming wouldn’t hurt on the holes that the opening is very narrow 💁🏽‍♂️

Really nice people running the golf course, very friendly. However, the course is in horrific condition. There is no "fairway" cut of grass; all grass is at least intermediate rough length, but there is no real "primary cut" of rough. Some greens were in okay shape (but slow); others were completely unplayable with large chunks of grass removed from them. Unfortunately it is just not a playable golf course right now.

Course was really nice. Love the layout challenging.Greens were ok... 4th hole par 5 green really bad needs lots of work.

I’d play this for maybe $20. There are no fairways and trees are overgrown. This makes all tee shots incredibly more difficult. You are not rewarded for good shots on this course. If you’re not a single digit handicap, you will probably lose 10 golf balls while playing your 5 hour long round.

The course is terribly maintained, hole 15 didn’t even have a green, and it smells like poop.

The fluff from surrounding cottonwood trees covered every inch of this course. It is impossible to keep it out of your eyes and off your clothes and clubs. It’s also very hard to find your ball when the whole course is essentially a white sheet of cotton. The course was pretty empty, making for a very quick round, but the quality of the course is very poor.

I’ve played at the course twice now. The first time was early in the season so I thought the conditions were just due to the lack of preparation and it just being very early in the season coming back to the course it is not worth $51 around when the fairways aren’t cut. There is no difference between the rough and the fairway. The grass is super long and super hard to hit out of. Also, the green are horrendous. Patches of grass missing in them holes and uneven dirt would not recommend for the price.

The staff here is so friendly. From the Pro Shop staff to the workers on the course. Everyone said hello and made me feel welcome and safe. It's been a while since I played this course. So, it was great going back and playing this course once again for the first time and over 5 years. Some things have changed on the course. But it's still Burnham Woods a local inexpensive Park Forest golf course. Great for the community a real local gem. "A great beginners course". I would not recommend it for the "Avid golfer".

It’s a course the county chooses not to maintain. Half the greens were unplayable. One had the flag stuck in the fringe like a spear. Staff is very friendly. It’s a course to get your practice in.

Awful pace of play, poorly ran, awful conditions. This course is run like the local DMV feels like pulling teeth. The pace of play was horrid they gladly let a 6 some play with no enforcement with a round taking 6 hours to complete. The pro shop doesn’t know how to operate they let lines build up and take 20 minutes to get you checked in and to microwave a hot dog. The greens are like playing on the Sahara desert with the rest of the course being all rough. You should be paid to play this course it’s that bad.

I’ve always gone to Burnham Woods when I wanted to get in a round of 18 holes in less than 2.5 hours. I’ve played there three times in the past three years, including yesterday.

That said, fairways are not, what you’d call, manicured. Lots of bare parches or grass clumps. Greens are in bad shape. Many have big spots of bare dirt.

There were at least a half dozen lawnmowers going over the course when I played so they were working on it, but, it’ll take more than grass-cutting to fix problems here.

Friendly staff, including the grounds crew.

Staff demonstrated no common sense nor judgment to reschedule around for two players. Instead I paid for the rounds that we didn't play. Plus, I am Forest Preserve member.
