Brentwood Golf Club & Banquet Center
About
Brentwood Golf & Banquet Center in White Lake is conveniently less than an hour from downtown Detroit. The 18-hole layout has two distinctly different designs. The front nine is a wooded trail design with homes lining the fairways while the back nine has a more open, classic Scottish-links layout with fewer trees. There are nearly 40 bunkers situated along the greens and fairways and a variety of marshes, wetlands, and ponds come into play on 13 holes. To make the golf course even more challenging, the strategically placed mounding provides a number of tricky uneven lies from all angles and on nearly every hole. Brentwood's par-5 16th is a particularly memorable hole, featuring a grass hill that is directly in front of the green, almost completely blocking the view of the putting surface on the approach.

Overall, this is a relatively short course with several short par 4s. There are some long ones to offset that somewhat. The greens and fairways were in great shape but the tees were carved up by divots and should have been moved. The bunkers were mostly the dirt variety and not very playable. There are several weird holes like a 90 degree dogleg left par 5 on which you cannot see the fairway due to cattails. The pace was a little slow for a Monday and we waited a bit on every tee although the round finished in about 4 hours. Overall, I think they charge too much for the quality of this course. I did enjoy playing here, though.
Great Value, But Slow & Course Conditions Only OK
I have golfed Brentwood before and this time, I was able to obtain a Great Deal and used my coupon so for $21.00, it was a very good bargain. The course conditions could be better but the greens were in good shape, which for me is key. The play was so slow, I only golfed 10 holes, tried to jump ahead, but couldn't and left. They really need a Ranger. A family of husband, wife and I assume their grown daughter had an entire hole and a half open ahead of them and were focusing on and putting out the 3 footers. Ranger would have helped.
Decent Course
All around average/decent course, nothing special however it has some challenging holes with doglegs, conditions were nothing to rave about but not bad.
Great Course
Love playing this course, it’s fairly forgiving and it evolves to a links style towards the back nine which is a nice change up for play style. Good luck losing a ball with a shot off the fairway. Open and well put together. Plus you get a joke of the day around the 4-5th hole tee box from a local resident. Great value
Need tender lovinted
I was second out in morning no one but one other guy who I think was a member. Played in just over 2hrs for 18. Front nine is tight and more of a challenge then back nine which is open and more links without tall grass. Cart paths on front nine need to be updated. Not sure this will happen do go and play and ignore them. They should make number nine number 18. Short par 3 by itself in front of clubhouse. People could hit the turn after 8. Oh what is wrong with golfers and throwing beer cans in woods? Early in year so you could see a lot but might be because there was not trash cans. Good round will be back later in year to see how it plays with summer conditions. Oh tee boxes on front are bad. Always can tell a course that gets a bunch of hacks by the torn up boxes. How bad do you have to be to take a divot with a driver? Or it might be because it's tight they hit irons? I hit driver in all holes because I'm straight. lol enjoy
Great Shape for April! Tough putting!
The course was in great shape considering it was April. Even the traps were decent. Putting was tough, very nice greens, fast for this time of year and tough pin placements.
Excellent golf!!
Great place... first time here and the folks were very welcoming!! I always appreciate that!! Made quite a first impression. Golf course was cool 😎.. unique course... beautiful day on a beautiful course..Thanks!!
Wonderful experience!!
This place is a gem. Beautiful scenery... very nice layout, great greens. Grass is cut all over the course..easy to find your golf balls. Will definitely be back!! Staff was extra friendly!!!
Used to be amazing.
Got a great deal on GOLFNOW. However my friend had to pay full price and it was not worth it for him. Course tee boxes are atrocious, cart paths need lots of work. Greens are in great shape. Crews need to start blowing leaves already. This course used to be amazing. I can tell that it is being neglected. If you get a good deal on playing here go. The layout is very fun. Go play and decide for yourself.
