Back From the Dead
I have lived less than a mile from this course for 21 years and 5 or 6 years ago I had sworn off this course, never to return. They had let a good facility with such potential circle down the drain. Fast forward 5 years and I started to hear good things, so I decided to see for myself. Save for the condition of the bunkers, Mystic Creek has truly been resurrected. Plenty of rain in the area has helped many courses, but its obvious that there is new management/ownership or something that is pumping new life into these three 9 hole tracks. Charging fair rates, its one you should check out.
Best Public Course In Michigan
I’ve played at some very nice, expensive public courses. This blows 98.9 percent of the public course out of the water. From the maintenance to the layout. Everything is amazing. Very challenging course but definitely recommend to anyone trying to play something different. They have 3 layouts at the course to choose from, you can pick based on your style of play.
Hope this course stays public and prices stay where they are at.
Excellent Experiance
Really loved the course layout, each hole very unique and challenged you to use your whole bag. The only downer or lacking piece were the bunkers. From what I understand they have had a bunch or rain recently so they were a bit washed out and hard. Greens were quick and true, rest of the course was in really good well taken care of condition. One of those courses you would score better on the second go around. Lots of blind shots, dog legs, water, keeps you on your toes.
Too rushed
The course was in good shape and nice enough. However we felt very rushed! The first 9 holes we never had anyone in front or in back of our foursome except for 1 time when we let a twosome play through. We kept getting notifications to speed up play and coming in to the clubhouse at the end of nine for beverages, as we never had a cart come out even after calling to have one sent out to our hole, a ranger followed us to our starting hole for our next 9 holes and told us to speed up play again! We are not slow golfers and as I already stated no one was behind us. On the second 9 there was another twosome and a threesome behind us which as anyone would know ,they would play faster than our foursome...duh! Be we were playing at a normal pace but yet they came out again ,saying the turf manager was getting complaints . Maybe they shouldn't book twosomes or threesomes behind foursomes! Would not come back here because of this issue...not fun to play when being unnecessarily picked on! Shame on them...
Never disappoints
Played Mystic Creek for the 12th time in 4 years. Always satisfied especially when you can grab a hot deal from Golfnow. Well worth my 45 mile drive. Course conditions are always excellent.
What a round!
Our group is predominantly eastsiders and this was quite a trip. To a man they were very happy to have made the trip and would come back again. Word of advice, I made back to back tee times and did not know to request the same combination of Nines. The curse was very accommodating and SETI’s up back to back on the same 2 9 sets.
Debit Card
Everything fine but would be nice if Bev Cart would take debit card.
Great must play
Been here twice. I will be back it was better the second time. This place will impress you.
Metro Detroit Gem
This is one of the most unique courses you will find around the Detroit area (speaking specifically for the water course. The other two are nice, but do not compare to the water 9. If you are playing for the first time, I would definately request to play the water, and also bring an extra sleeve or two depending on the wind!
One caveat however, this past time I played, the course seemed like it was starting to get a little run down. It's not bad, just needs some TLC around the tee boxes and such.
