Actually was surprised at how well the course was , the greens were good n fast , tee boxs you wasn't standing in pivots, Unfortunately we was that slow group today but I am planning another round shortly, downfall if you use golf now app it doesn't mention the 10 dollar park entrance fee.
Extra ten dollars and slow pace of play
I was really not happy you had to pay a ten dollar entrance fee for the metro park, that really soured the deal from the get go… it’s not worth it at all even with the hot deal. Too many other places to play that don’t charge the entrance fee
Pace of play is not governed.
There was a 4 some in front of us that were playing painfully slow. So much that after being on the course for 45 minutes and still not reaching the second green, I called the clubhouse to send the ranger out. The Ranger came out as we were on the 3rd hole and did not say anything to the group in front of us. As we were backed up on the 5th hole, the gentleman behind us said he called them on the 4th hole to send someone out. The Ranger came out again and did not seem to say anything to them. After a 3.5 hour 9 hole round I was livid. After waiting for 15 minutes for the group in front of us to clear the 9th green, I finally shouted that the sun was going down as there were 3 or more groups behind us that didn’t finish.
Great Course
Great Course,In Great condition,Would recommend it to everyone to play
Staff is rude
My daughter and I had a 320 tee time. Due to unforeseen circumstances we arrived at 316pm. I was rushing to the front counter to check in when the "Starter" drives up to me and asks if I am with the league. I replied no and he exclaims " are you the 320 tee time?!" "You are on the tee right now!" You gotta move!"
I assured him I knew and was going as fast as I could.
I get to the front counter and the lady checks.me in and gives me my cart number. The old man behind her rudely told me " You're late". I told him I was aware of that and ignored whatever else he was telling me. At this point I felt like just leaving as it was only 319pm and we were being treated so rudely. I am well aware that leagues are very important for a golf course's financial bottom line but I don't feel like regular customers should be treated this way.
I went out to get my daughter and as we were heading to the cart the the "Starter" drives up to my daughter and yells "Are you the 320 tee time?!" She said yes and he again reiterated to her that the league starts at 340pm and needed to hurry up. She already was aware that we were cutting it close and knew he had already said something to me about it and got upset and told him we could just start on the 2nd hole if necessary.
So we hopped in our cart and drove to the 2nd hole. I then notice the "Starter" is following us. We are beyond irritated at this point and wondering what he wanted. He pulls up to us at the tee box and apologizes for "rushing us" but we "have the league today". Then admits "they are pretty slow".
So we arrived at the 2nd tee at 322pm, the league started at 340pm. Seems to me, since we were a twosome, even if we started on the 1st tee a minute or two after our tee time, we could've played the 1st hole and been easily ahead of a "slow" playing league.
Other than that, we enjoyed the beautiful course and weather was great.
I usually am early for my tee times but inevitably life happens and there are times I get there too close to the tee time. However, I have never been treated this way at any other golf course I have played.
I hope if I return to Kensington it will be a much better experience.
Perfect day and they took care of my daughter
Friendly staff
Great Public Course
I live in Tennessee and was here visiting. Had the opportunity to play there on a Hot Deal. It was awesome
Good course bad pace of play
Second time out at this course and pace of play was abysmal. Stacked tee times on top of each other. Log jams at every hole. Walking shouldn’t be an option post 9am
